"The champ" is fricking Joe Biden, in case you somehow forgot.
Despite what y'all seem to feel inside, Trump is not the president and lost his last "heavyweight bout". He is not the incumbent with a stellar track record of success that speaks for itself.
Maybe if he was, THEN I'd be cool with him skipping the debates. But as it stands, he did not win his last prize fight and desperately needs to pick up new supporters with every chance he has.
Once again his hardcore supporters are only concerned about the primary and not the general. I know you think that since the Biden admin has been such a shitshow failure that Trump barely needs to put in any effort to look great by comparison - that is NOT how it works.
Trump has to work his nuts off to gain more votes from independents, moderates, women, etc that voted against him in 2020. He's done nothing to rein those votes in, and he needs every opportunity put forth to get them in the fold.
This thread has made it completely obvious that his hardcore base is only concerned with "owning the Desantis people" in the primary and nothing else. The general is what fricking matters, but you all are too dense or too entrenched to care.
