So, if he toes the line in Congress then he magically erases all of that by being governor?

Not at all, but please post more of his voting record. You got TPP and I disagree with his vote on that. What else? Was his entirety in Congress supporting globalist policies? Or are you picking the only singular thing and using that to justify the attacks on DeSantis?

The only thing that sticks out to me from his time in Congress was the TPP... Other than that he looks like he has a pretty solid, conservative record which is something that you should tout and a congressional record that Trump doesn't have...

Agreed

The fear is W. Bush II's record in Texas was conservative, too. The only reason to think he would go establishment was that his father was, right down to the marrow. W fooled a lot of people, including myself.

I said that was the only thing that I had concern with... Are you so blinded with your hate that you cannot discuss things? TPP was a pretty dang big deal to me so count it as a mark against him in my book... I already said the record was pretty solid from that point and the Desantis side should be touting it as a positive in my opinion...

If both sides would quit being some damn sensitive about their chosen candidate, we might could have some decent discussions... However, you and many others on both sides just go straight to the slinging crap...

This is the first valid argument from your side. So that's 1 policy made in 2015 he voted to fast track. I do not agree with that either.

No, there are more than one.

Do you think his subsequent years as Governor define him more than this one event in Congress?

To a point. Yes.

quote:

Or should we be defined by singular events? Yes, there is a gotcha to this question.

Depends on the action. That's broad.

FWIW, i was going through your post by sentence and responding. I saw the rest of your post.

I don't "hate" Trump. I just think he's a bad candidate and has not shown any proof that he will win in 2024.

Mine as well, as admitted to in this thread.

How am i slinging? I asked for policies. So far i got 1 and only 1. The rest is idiotic "but paul ryan supports him" bullshite that makes no sense. You can't control who supports you. And FWIW, Trump supported Paul Ryan at 1 time too, and so did this board. I was a big paul ryan fan EARLY on in his congressional career when he was fighting Obama on Obamacare in the Blaire house. I don't care much for him now.

Bump stock ban. Fauci appointment. You can't say either of those were good moves by Trump.

In 2014 and 2015 he supported sending weapons to Ukraine to counter Russia. That 100% leads me to the conclusion that he will continue the push to keep that war going.

Bump Stock. Did not agree with.

Fauci has been the director since 1984. If you are referring to Covid, I have already explained it all to you. Here it is again:

In order to get it(why we are not blaming reactions), one has to come to terms with a virus called COVID-19. That it did in fact kill people. That we can all look back and to trace where it came from and hold the people responsible for that release and development. (because no covid means no reactions) Once you get past that point, and you are a Gov of a state or the president of the USA.... You are responsible for the safety of the citizens. (because there was covid...) At that point choices had to be made. We should be pissed. Pissed at the ones that actually did it. (and to be clear here... we are talking about the ones who released and developed it. The ones that covered it up. ) (playing the lock down blame game and reactions is pointless) Playing this covid-19 blame game is misplaced.

We don't know yet.

We do know who Lindsay Graham, Bill Kristol and the Lincoln Project prefer, though.

Director, yes. But he was appointed the head of the Covid task force by Trump.

Is that a policy? You can't do it. At least jjdoc gave us 1 legitimate policy concern. You have nothing but the same idiotic "but so and so supports him that must mean he's bad".

I know what Trump did. He allowed them to purchase weapons.

Trump also made it clear no new wars and pulled troops back home. Promise kept. I'm not against selling them weapons. I'm against sending troops there and giving them money.

Despite him saying that we have no business being involved in that conflict?

Unless he has revised or released a new statement, that's not what he has said.

Given the 2 on this subject, I'm voting Trump based on history.

Do I think Fauci needs to be investigated for actions that lead to the release of Covid yes. Am I going to blame Trump for creating a task force on Covid and putting who was has been the main guy for decades on it? No.

I can not think of a single president that would not have.

What’s with the Paul Ryan obsession anyway?

Is he relevant to anything any longer?
