Let's say Ron does run and beats Trump in the primary, as you are hoping.
It is a 100% guarantee that Trump will then run as an Independent. He isn't going to concede anything.
Why do you think all the prog media is sucking Desantis off right now? They know this will happen.
If he runs, it guarantees 4 more years for Dementia Joe (or Kamala, Pete Buttplug, or whatever freak the Dems put up).

The second he does that MAGA is done for. Basically the Republican party would have to shift a little more to the center to pull in enough votes which might ultimately be better in the long run.
