3rd most Covid deaths
16th on your list of closed small businesses which doesn’t mention if they were closed voluntarily or not
Desantis did great apparently.
Thanks for the cool dataset

Ok. Why didn’t it happen in NE Florida?
You are getting closer.
You are getting closer.

This re-imagining of Florida as some sort of police state during COVID is a joke.

Not at all. He followed the 3 phases of reopening.
If we are going to be critical of the year of hell, then let us be consistent.
There is a reason that in his own state he is down to Trump. My area 80% is supporting Trump. Tampa 76%.

The issues we had were allowed by DeSantis. There is no way of getting around that.
“But but but but Trump!”
Screw Trump too!
Yet whatever Trump’s failures and complicity in perpetuating this COVID-1984 tyranny upon us in no way negates the reality that DeSantis supported lockdowns.

It’s sad not funny though.
The Free State of Florida was hammered hard by the media and dems.
The only two groups mad at Ron to this day.

80% of my area says you don't got this.

Didn't see shite about closing beaches in that order.
You can spin and “but monkey” DeSantis’ EO of 3-17-20 anyway you like but it says what it says:

Link?
Miami herald reported in mid April that Desantis was leading trump in Florida.
How is that statistically possible with your 80% and 76% numbers for Miami and Tampa.
I’d love to see that math.

Trump leads DeSantis in the Tampa Bay area, by 69% to 22%, in Southwest Florida, by 80% to 7% and Palm Beach County, 65% to 33%. In Northwest Florida, however, the two are tied at 43%.

CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
DECLARATION OF A STATE OF EMERGENCY
EXTENDED THROUGH 11:59 P.M. on March 17, 2021
WHEREAS, coronavirus disease 2019 (“COVID-19”), a severe acute respiratory
illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that can spread rapidly from person to person
and cause serious illness or death, constitutes a clear and present threat to the lives,
health, welfare and safety of the people of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, on March 9, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order
20-52, declaring a State of Emergency for the State of Florida related to COVID-19; and
quote:
You are playing word games.
And you are either one hopelessly stupid individual, or just fricking dishonest.
In the order you quoted above, after all the "whereases", you get to the actual order...
NOW, THEREFORE, I, RAUL J. AGUILA, as Interim City Manager for the City of Miami Beach, Florida, pursuant to the authority vested in me under Section 26-31 of the City of Miami Beach Code of Laws and Ordinances (the “City Code”), have determined that there is reason to believe that there exists a clear and present danger of a riot or other general public disorder, widespread disobedience of the law, and substantial injury
to persons or to property, all of which constitute an imminent threat to public peace or order, and to the general welfare of the City of Miami Beach, based upon the COVID19 pandemic. I further find that it is necessary to continue to take immediate action to
control and reduce threats associated with the COVID-19, to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the people of the City of Miami Beach.
BASED ON THE FOREGOING, I HEREBY extend the Declaration of a State of Emergency in the City of Miami Beach to address the COVID-19 pandemic, and extend the Emergency Measures ordered and promulgated pursuant to such
Declaration, as may be further amended, for an additional seven (7) day period, commencing at 12:00 a.m. March 11, 2021, and ending at 11:59 p.m. on March 17, 2021, unless extended by the Miami Beach City Commission by duly enacted Resolution in regular or special session. Any violation of the provisions of this Order may subject an operator, business entity, or organization to the closure of the operation, business, or establishment for a period of at least 24 hours, or through the duration of the State of Emergency.
The interim city manager had full discretion and authority to close the beaches. DeSantis didn't do it...he did, and he took responsibility for doing it. Other local leaders chose not to.
If you keep trying to blame beaches being closed on DeSantis, it just makes you look like one hopelessly stupid fricktard.
