DeSantis made a course correction and should be recognized for doing so. Yet anyone claiming DeSantis was opposed to lockdowns and “social distancing” is rewriting history.

Everybody is a dem that challenges you.

You are playing a game of words. Without DeSantis order, none of that happens.

DeSantis didn't have to shut down at all. He made his own choice.

As I have said many times now. I hold the local authorities that acted under those orders as guilty as the one that allowed it.

By the polling here, 80% agree.

Do you think DeSantis issues the order without the federal declaration by Trump?

Now do Trump, who did the same thing for the ENTIRE country

Yet another word game. It gave them authority to act in the manner that they decided.

I have stated I don't even really support RDS anymore, but all the stupidity parroted by Trumpkin NPCs is just too much.

This is rich coming from one of the board’s resident COVID-1984 fear-porn mongers.

Yet again, SFP weighs in on a topic and the irony is off the graph.

I don't do hypotheticals. Neither of us would know.

Trump was out of office in 2021.

dead business

"The share of Florida small businesses still closed compared to January 2020, just prior to the onset of the pandemic, stands at 32.2 percent, the 16th highest percentage among 45 states examined, according to an online data tracker managed by Harvard University.

Nationwide, as of March 22, the number of small businesses in operation was 35 percent below what the level was in January 2020, according to the Opportunity Insights data tracker.

The data also shows that different types of small businesses were not affected in the same way. A large number of shutdowns occurred in the leisure and hospitality sector, in which small businesses suffered closures estimated at 52.4 percent, according to tracker’s numbers."

guess he helped the economy, too

if businesses were NOT closed, this would not HAVE HAPPENED

GASLIGHT ON THOUGH!!

I think you are slowly coming around.

Slowly.

Desantis didn’t close Florida beaches. Local authorities did.

You are dug in really hard. I get that.

I was never arrested on the beach. Wonder what the difference was?

By the way, you people had the worst Covid numbers in the whole state. Your county leaders kept you locked down longer than any other area to protect people that were failing to protect themselves.

That’s on y’all.

Looking back at everything and picking a specific moment in time is both unfair and yet predictable

As for Trump- his order was based on the 2 week to flatten timeline. DeSantis followed with his order allowing local governments to act as best suited to each locale. Almost everyone was willing to give it 2 weeks. At the time we did not know many things like

1. It's closer to a cold than anything else
2. The masks were worthless
3. The treatments could kill you
4. Don't lock old people away in a nursing home

When evidence came out, DeSantis acted quicker than everybody else. I have zero problem with how he handled covid. I am also not here to criticize trump.

Ironically, trump chose Florida over NY to live.

I am trying to figure out which group has more political Bots in it: the rabid Trump hates Desantis people or the Desantis hates Trump people. Both love to cherry pick, both don't understand politics and have a very short memory. See Cruz and Trump 2015-2016

You are not listening. Without the order from DeSantis, none of those things happen.

He signed the order and delegated the task to local Authorities.

The issues we had were allowed by DeSantis. There is no way of getting around that.
