I don't think they under stand that they have already burned that bridge down. A lot of the fans will not go back for years if they ever do .

Exactly. Some people will begrudgingly to back to the NFL but the damage to the reputation is done.

And then people like me, will never watch again, ever.

No amount of backpeddling will ever convince me to go back. The NFL made their choice.

It seems the Broncos learned.

No it doesn't.

did any Broncos kneel before this weekend?

Linebacker, Brandon Marshall did last year for 1 game

One player did it last year. Seems one player "learned" and the rest of the team carried on with business as usual.

so none this year? cool

so last weekend was more about Trump and "solidarity" than any actual protest and now they got that out of the way, back to normal

yet somehow y'all are spinning this as Trump winning or something

NOPE. NOT THIS TIME.

THe vast majority of paying NFL fans are middle americans. And it has become crystal clear to the middle americans, there is a significant number of players in the NFL who don't like them for slights that their race/anscestors may have caused.

They know that contrite statements like this one are completely disingenous and done only when threats to the pocket are seen.

I don't know how the NFL can fix this.

I , personally, am waiting for the NBA to take the hit. but I expect a less of a hit will be taken.

"Last week members of our team joined their brothers around the league in a powerful display of unity."

"But now that we're in survival mode, we've decided to give you a collective false face hoping that the naive among you who indicate that you can't do without us will buy it."

DisplacedBuckeye, "business as usual" is to kneel, or at least not to "antagonize" kneelers. The Broncos are vocally 'bucking' that trend.

"Business as usual" is what is normally done. One single player kneeling, and then none since makes standing for the anthem "business as usual." Last week, they decided otherwise. "From now on" they'll resume standing. "Business as usual."

But yeah, sure. Winning!

How does that apply to the Steelers?

Or better yet, let's check out the Packers tonight. They were planning a big demo, even involving their fans:

Players must have a bachelor's degree or better to be eligible for the draft.
