Extreme Gun control measures in Virginia
Michigan’s batshit governor
Now Minnesota and the riots

A lot of big news in key swing states this year that makes Dems look bad to independents

Virginia isn’t a swing state at this point.

Minny and Michigan? They are.

Minny is a swing state based on what exactly?

Virginia is Blue and solidly blue. A lot of swamp in Northern VA.

Michigan and Minnesota will be close. Trump won Michigan by 11,000 votes and lost Minnesota by 40,000 in 2016. If Gary Johnson weren’t on the ballot I think he could take both of them.

TRUMP almost won the state the last time. Democrats are rioting and looting which turns off moderate voters.

And, historically, it has come within a few thousand votes of being flipped under W.

This isn’t DC or Vermont we are talking about that are diehard Dem.

Just went and looked at some of the results from 2016 and DAMN their were some states that could have gone either way.

No, but this is a state that has voted Dem since 1976.

Yeah there have been some close races there but still hard to qualify the state as a swing state when its been 11 elections since it went another direction.

I think Minny is going to be a swing state from now on. Trump only lost it by 2 points to clinton.

The reason? It has a huge labor/blue collar presence. These people are trending GOP fast as the party becomes more protectionist.

If a GOP nominee in some future election gets Trump like margins in rural and industrial areas, but improves in urban areas, minnesota would likely be a gop win.

W Bush only lost it by 2.4 points in 2000. They then proceeded to vote Dem 4 more times.

Look I'm not saying it can't be flipped, but I usually don't see states described as a "swing state" when they never swing the other way.

Go look at the county-level data though for 2016. Trump won counties in rural minnesota that hadn't gone GOP since the 1920s, although he also did worse than normal GOP in certain urban/suburban areas.

Rural minnesota swung like 25-30 points in GOP favor in 2016.

Dems are pursuing goals their voters want. The GOP campaigns tough but always sells out. It's been Harlem Globetrotters vs Washington Generals since 1964

I think we will be surprised by Va due to unusually high rural turnout

That's like saying that "abnormal rural turnout" in Washington will be enough to overcome the retarded zombie hordes of King and Thurston counties.

This, even higher military voter turnout, and a lot of those affected by the military have seen their lot in life improve in Va, it will be a close one.

And you can bet the rhetoric around voter fraud will keep a lot of housekeepers and gardeners away from the polls in NVa.
