Reading through social media and seeing people comment on how "pathetic" the response to Maria is I was just curious about what all the emergency response experts in the Democratic party would do differently.

EXACT examples.

Nice question. I read there are 10.000 tons of aid waiting offshore. No fuel or trucks to take it inland.

We USED to have a Naval base there. The Peurto Ricans were "uncomfortable with it" and during the Clinton admin it was done away with. How nice would that be now, for them?

As it stands we have aid standing offshore, for a territory that denied it for years.

Way more than 5000 troops and 50 helicopters. 4x that much.

Send truck drivers. The PR do not know how to drive a 18-wheeler.

Napalm would be a pretty good solution

Swore I saw an interview with the PR governor saying that the US response has been great and everything that he’s asked for he’s gotten. Must have been dreaming. No way the PR governor knows more about the situation than a buncha people looking for any shred to attack trump or a whole bunch of regurgitating Facebook minions that thought Puerto Rico was some place in South America 3 weeks ago

Liberals are dumb enough to believe that because he spends a few minutes tweeting, he can't also do his job.

Pretty sure the responses for the last few hurricanes under his watch have been the best we have EVER seen.

Trump. Doing his job well. Facebook liberals just too lazy to actually figure it out.

It's the new narrative. Comical at this point but mine as well get used to it.
FEMA is stretched as thin as it ever has been and we're doing everything possible. But it doesn't matter. Get ready for "Arms of an Angel" while they show a Puerto Rican kid crying and some old stupid clip of Trump laughing.

You really need to get accurate information before you post. There are over 10,000 FEMA workers, boots on the ground there now. PR has over 10,000 in their national guard which all have been activated.

There are flights going on around the clock and have been since airport reopened bringing in supplies. LA National Guard has been activated and is going to PR.

People's world

Ruben Berrios, leader of the Puerto Rican Independence Party, said, “The Navy’s leaving the Roosevelt Roads base represents the start of a future that is filled with big opportunities for the planned economic development and the increase of well-being for all the population” of Puerto Rico.

This is an issue I avoid because the truth is, 99.9% of us, don't have the slightest clue what we're talking about. Unless you're an emergency professional doing logistics or medicine or something that involves responses to disasters...you need to shut the frick up. And that goes for both sides.

Dems will blast Trump for his response to Maria, maybe some of it's valid, maybe not. But you could say the exact same thing about Repubs whenever they could when Obama was responding to something like this. And Dems again to bush w Katrina. Etc. etc.

I don't know how much of it is valid because it's just something I can admit it's something I don't know much about, can you??? People just want to take shots at the guy they didn't vote for. Same story, different disaster.

To be fair, the former president couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time, so that is their standard.

the brand shiney new talking points are Trump didn't do enough for PR or anybody or any hurricane.

The democrats called an emergency meeting on it...

Well, I kind of am an emergency response professional and know a little bit about what I'm talking about so frick off.

So we've got lots of complainers about how Trump has screwed the pooch on this deal and NOT ONE legitimate response as to what could be done better. Am I reading this right?

Did CNN not issue the "lessons learned" white paper yet?

Where is the exact quote where he gave himself praise for the response?

I missed that because everything I've seen has been praising FEMA and the first responders.
