It was a special election for an empty democrat seat. So just like when Matt Gaetz left and left his seat open. Its a vote to fill a seat that was already democrat. The nyt already ran this story and it was 2 democrats on the ballot.

You're talking about a completely different race for a completely different seat in a completely different part of Texas.

So Texas allowed both to run in a special election for seat 9 which is odd. In the first election Republicans had 52% then in the run off dems won 52 to 48 but in the election later this year it will be after redistricting and they will lose the seat again. Nothing will change.

Less than 100,000 people voted in this special election. If anything this is a sign of Texas Republicans not getting the vote out for this special state election. Nothing more.

Exactly. The Dims have people willing to take and risk taking a bullet for rapists and child molestors. They got out the vote and the Rs did not.

Some will not vote if Trump isn’t on the ballot. I believe that for a lot of them, it’s “I voted for Trump in 2024, why do I need to vote now?” Others have given up because of the inevitability of the Democratic sweep in the House and the Senate.

Congressional GOP hasn't done shite to get them off their asses.

OBBB passed and that's it. Most don't give a shite about the Epstein files, so that doesn't move the needle.

Trump can't get his USAs or judges because of GRASSLEY (Republican). The SAVE Act can't pass because of THUNE (Republican). The Congressional GOP just passed bills goving BILLIONS to programs Trump defunded. Trump is having to rule by EO because of the GOP. And, finally, the OVERWHELMING majority of GOP voters are in favor of Trump’s deportation agenda YET the GOP just folded on funding DHS/ICE to negotiate "restrictions"

I can't say I blame them.

I don’t think I’m getting the point across to you. I understand that most of the people leaving would be republican. Do you understand that if a disproportionately high percentage of republicans are leaving that means more are leaving than we would expect based on the percentage of republicans in the county?

Will Trump and the MAGA loyalist claim voter fraud and election interference?

The Republican election coordination is abysmal in Texas. Other than some no name campaign ads run on TV and spamming our phones, there is nothing from the Republican party to get people to the polls. Not even sending out sample ballots so people know when a election is happening and who is on the ballot when you do go vote

Nothing of what you are saying is true…. As noted in my previous post, a snow and ice storm blew in Friday evening that literally shutdown the city of FW from 1/23 to 1/29. I had to take PTO because schools were closed down.
I received at least 20 phone calls and texts to vote in special election and also numerous mailers. This was the only item on the special election with no other elections and no one really cares when another snow storm is coming and the last one shut power down and had no water for a week.
