2018: Democrats lead GOP by 12 million registered voters, 40% D, 29% R, 28% I

Democrats hold a massive voter lead in states that require party registration, a gap of 12 million that could be key to whether the party takes control of the House and Senate in the fall midterm congressional elections, according to a new analysis.
Overall, 40 percent of voters in 31 party registration states are Democrats, 29 percent are Republicans, and 28 percent are independents, according to a new report of July numbers from the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. The states include several with key battles over House seats such as California, New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
The lead is significant, said Rhodes Cook’s analysis in Center Director Larry Sabato’s “Crystal Ball” newsletter, because in the past presidential election the majority party in 24 of the 31 states won, especially among Republican states. Republicans are running out of time Watch Full Screen to Skip Ads In 2016, Trump won 11 of 12 majority Republican states, and took six of 19 Democratic states, said the analysis.

How many people do you know are not registered or do not vote but say they are pro Trump/Republicans?

You can look at a few solid southern states like Louisiana where Democrats have the voter registration advantage. That stuff doesn’t mean much when your millions are coming from California and New York.

Here a major issue with the RIGHT!
They dismiss everything and end up scratching their heads and wondering how they lost.
People have been sounding the horn on the amount of money that Dems have and you get "the DNC is broke" not understanding that the money is not going to the DNC it's going into the DCCC. The excuse is that Trump won with WAY less (true), but the people running are NOT TRUMP!
There was an urgency with Trump. People got up and went to work to get him in office. Now they are sitting down.

If Republicans actually believed in limited government, there would not be such a disparity.

Russian cemeteries don't register to vote

I wonder how many Democrats are registered that vote Republican? Seldom do Repbs. win elections without crossover votes from the Dems. I use to be registered as a Dem only for the reason that in local races more Dems run for office than Reps. It gave me a louder voice in electing local candidates. When Clinton was elected, I switched bandwagons. Sumbitch lied to my face on statewide tv.
BTW, I have never voted for a presidential Dem in a political election in my 66 years.

Was just talking about this article with my wife.
Notice they leave out Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia. Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Ohio...All Republican States
It's the Very Definition of Fake News. And yes it says in the article that it is only states that REQUIRE voters to claim a party, but the numbers are still skewed left.

The his is a lazy generalized fluff article. It would have been nice to see voter registration at a granular level. At least have a table with voter registration by party, incumbent party, historical midterm turnout by party by district.
Then we would have some good info. But, I guess you have to pay for that level of analysis.
Nonetheless, get out and vote GOP.

What a horribly flawed article
Voter registration varies widely across house districts within a state
Nola has a much different voter registration distribution than Livingston parish or Lafayette
My area of California is a lot different than Los Angeles and SF

When I registered in Mississippi there wasn't even a field to claim a party.
We just show up for the primary and ask for a D or R ballot. Only restriction is you can't vote in one party's primary and the other party's runoff.

So there's a lot of Dems in California and New York, a real fricking shocker

True. Seen this happen before. This "sitting down" malaise. People go back to work, they have some income , they begin to spend and feel secure. Most people don't think further than their next paycheck. Which is understandable since they're going about the process of living. What they fail to understand is that folks like George Soros et al are working to elect open-borders liberals. And open-borders means voters and a flood of cheap labor.
In the profit-loss equation is a factor called labor cost. The lower the labor cost the higher the profit and for investers this thing called Return on Investment (ROI). So for bloodsuckers like George Soros the only thing that counts is a high ROI. He said that publicly just recently. He doesn't care about the political or economic impact of his investments on people, only ROI. So, since cheap labor means higher profit margins he always supports political candidates who are for open-borders. Candidates like this guy Beto O'Rourke running against Ted Cruz.
Ask the people of Hungary what they think of pro-mass migration billionaires like George Soros. Hungary has not bought into this mass-migration suicide that we see going on in the EU. In fact they kicked him (George Soros) out of Hungary.
Think about it. The only folks who can stop the open-borders leeches like George Soros is you and me.

I wonder how many Donald Ducks and Mickey Mouses are now registered Democrat voters.

Reason we need ID laws for voting...
