Did you give any thought to my reply to you in the other thread? When you went to mass today, did you think about what it meant when you recited the Nicene creed? He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. So where ever he is, he is not with the living nor the dead. The dead are asleep, and haven’t yet been resurrected to be judged. I don’t know why you or any Catholics think dead people / grandma is in heaven. It’s non biblical.

I had a good conversation with an old priest once (while drinking a few beers) after he did the funeral for one of my dad’s friends. He gave the mass at a rural church that had one mass a week on Sunday except it had a Saturday and a Sunday mass during deer season. He believed in soul sleep, and that no one is in heaven and that the dead will be resurrected and live on earth like the Bible says. He said that the ideas of soul separation and going to heaven was pagan Greek influence on the church. I have to agree that it makes the most sense if one presumes “the Truth” and univocality of “The Bible”.
