That article basically says “we can’t win elections, so we need to fight dirty”.

Of course it was a bad look. These people are little children crying when they don't get their way. But just because they backpedaled doesn't mean they don't want to pack the court anymore. It just means they will lie to us about it.

The Kavanaugh debacle last time cost them their Blue Wave and knowing they are going to attack a Catholic female no matter which one is nominated has them pissing their pants. You go full attack that will turn many Catholic voters off which many are Hispanic. If you don't go after her than these uberliberal women are going to lose their shite and some will vote for the Green Party. There is a reason they will vote to confirm the week before an election. The Democrats know they have fricked up here big time. That is why Nancy was cracking on Sunday. Voters will not take kindly to attacks on a Supreme Court nomination.
