and canceling the Alaskan pipeline
What Alaskan pipeline? Did you mean Keystone XL which would flow Canadian oil?
I believe the Keystone XL would not have increase Canadian oil, just a more efficient way to transport it. The Keystone pipeline (not XL) still transports Canadian oil. I have read that the increased oil that would have been transported via XL is still coming into the states but by railways (Warren Buffet owned) and over the road. We don't pay extra for that transport cost as it is built into the cost per barrel which is set at global prices.
You are a little off on the reasons for gas prices, but I believe spot on with the other points.
BTW, not a Democrat. Right leaning independent which doesn't seem too popular on this board either. I had no issues with Keystone XL, just trying to clarify the misconceptions about it.

What specific Trump policy did you not like? What part of the economy, foreign policy or other aspect of life did you not like under Trump?

This is wrong on so many levels. If you have an efficient way to transport any product then you have the ability to produce MORE because you can get it out faster and more people will use it. Your one of those guys that think Biden has no impact on Gas prices when the man himself said higher gas prices were good for environment. Only an idiot can’t see that the people in charge are 100% trying to destroy the US economy. High Gas Prices effect EVERYTHING and the idiot in charge thinks it’s good.

The oil still gets to the states but by different means. And yes, I use to think the president has no impact on gas prices, but someone on this board had some facts that changed my way of thinking. I still do not believe he has the level of impact some people think, but he does have some.
I do agree many Democrats think higher gas prices are good for the environment to decrease travel, but I would think they want to get re-elected more than anything. Higher gas prices are not the way to get re-elect no matter if you are Democrat.
Complete agree that higher gas prices affect everything. I am not against the oil industry at all.

The permit for construction of the Keystone Pipeline, however, was revoked. It didn't really affect current production in the U.S., since it wasn't built yet, and the oil still moves to refineries in Canada by pipelines, and in the U.S. by rail.
The rest of what you wrote? True.

So when you have the worlds most powerful nations leadership come out as anti gas:oil and let’s be clear - they are ALL anti gas and oil with their policies, it will effect gas prices. It’s the main reason when Trump was in office gas was cheaper because he told the world we’re going to produce our own and don’t need yours…what happens when that is the policy….all those other oil producers don’t want to lose their biggest client, so they reduce prices. This isn’t that hard to figure out. The USA has a huge influence on Gas prices. We are the leaders of the free world. But go ahead and google the bullshite lies that OPEC controls it. Trump made it clear who controls the US oil prices. He ran on it and made it happen. Biden ran on - gas is bad…love it Dems

AUX3, I respectfully disagree with a few of your points.
US oil production was at one of it's highest levels in 2019 yet gas prices in May 2019 was the highest since Nov 2014. Not Trump's fault. I am just saying there are many, many more factors with the price of oil than the US President and their policies (but yes, they still have some influence).

If you have facts and numbers otherwise, I would enjoy seeing them. I am always open to learning more, but for me, there needs to be numerical proof.
Just one more item about Keystone XL. It was not scheduled to be completed until 2023 and that was prior to the Covid lockdown that ruined our economy. So we would not have seen a possible difference in oil prices until 2025 even if there were no other delays.
Apologies for turning this into an oil discuss when this was about much more.

Fair comments and I agree that it’s usually not a finger snap and a fix. However, in the US economy, you cripple it with high gas prices. It impacts everything. As a leader, with 5-7$ gas, it has to be top priority. If it’s not, then you want the economy to crash. To think a US president has no influence is wrong. All he has to do is make a fricking phone call and Demand that shite get fixed or No more donations. This high gas is intentional. It’s on purpose. It’s appreciated by these idiots. It can be fixed and Trump outlined it. Even during Covid, Trump was dialed in on Gas. While Biden wants it gone

well if that's what we are looking for in a President, then we know it won't be a democrat.
