Not entirely accurate, but quite funny.

Nonetheless, you forgot “You have to go back.”

Me? The Wall is the low-hanging fruit on the stupid-tree, but the concept of deporting millions of people is infeasible and thus just-plain-dumb, meaningless rhetoric for his mindless worshippers.

Implement a guest worker program with no path to citizenship or governmental benefits and enact a statute depriving their children of birthright citizenship, just like the US-born children of foreign diplomats. Sure, the latter will get a court challenge, but it may-well pass muster.

Never told congress to make it a federal felony to hire one illegal.

The current mess is stage craft.

Posturing.

Ps. He lied claiming 3 to 5 million illegals voted. The after math revealed a few idiots. Not even 1,000 nation wide.

Instead of lying about why he lost the popular vote do something about the millions here illegally. No work for illegals.

On August 4, 2018, a federal judge ruled the Trump administration must fully restore DACA. He stayed the order until August 23 to give the administration time to decide whether to appeal.

This is where the courts are wrong. DACA is an Executive Order, which can be undone by another Executive Order. How the DACA program is somehow Constitutionally protected is beyond me.

One of the main reasons for our low participation rate is the retiring baby boomers. Automation will be a problem but right now we have a labor shortage, a retiring labor force, low reproductive rate, and are cutting legal immigration. That only works if you can automate a hell of a lot of jobs in the next few years, are ok with illegal immigration, or are ok with economic stagnation/decline.

Pretty much this.

"You allowed us into your country, of course you have our vote so you can stay in power"
Both sides are about votes. You think when conservative populists give speeches to working class white crowds about immigrants taking their jobs they are doing so out of altruism? Populist nationalism is always about making it "us vs them". Nothing new here folks.

Implement a guest worker program

We already have one for agricultural workers -- fast-tracked with no caps -- and it's routinely ignored.

Employers don't want to be on the hook for workers comp or paying into Mexico's reciprocal Social Security program.

Trump needs a comprehensive program for overstays. Most enter legally through ports but never return.

Not a Democrat, but Trumps immigration policies are too focused on preventing illegal immigration whereas a better solution would be reforms that open up more and easier channels to immigrate legally. Once that is accomplished we can deal with border security.

We are in desperate need of youth in this country to make up for the rapidly retiring and aging baby boomers. It will take generations to breed our way out of the demographic issues we face, or we can infuse our populace with young productive immigrants.

True but we are still well off our 90s highs for working age participation. We've started trending up in the last couple years and I do expect this to continue.

Agree with all of this. Mass automation is coming but it is going to take awhile.

I'm down with upping legal immigration to fill economic needs but our system isn't geared this way unfortunately.

Cuts to legal immigration hurt economic growth. At a time with record low birth rates we need to increase immigration, not decrease it.

This isn’t true in a vacuum. We are experiencing great economic growth currently and legal immigration should be controlled based on workforce needs. If you are at full employment or close to it then immigration is needed. If not, it needs to be cut.

We had a ton of people out of the workforce and now with growth and cutting immigration they are rejoining the workforce. This is why you’re seeing record low unemployment rates among minorities...immigrants no longer are taking their jobs
