They know it's coming. If they are already leaking it, it's got to be worse than the small handful they've tried to portray it as. It must be enough that they are actually worried the Impeachment vote might fail.

If the vote fails, will the melt be bigger or worse than Election Night 2016?

They had better make sure it fails. They don't want a trial in the Senate. This has just been a show throw mud. It won't pass.

2 things:
First I'll believe it when I see it
Second, I don't think they're smart enough to defect

The vote will pass with no more than 3 defections.

some have been surprised that support hasn’t increased despite negative testimony about Trump from a series of blockbuster hearings last month.

Bongino this morning said he has it at 5 defections now, and could be as high as 10.

He could be just trying to seed doubt.

The vote will pass judiciary and the full house. They wouldn’t have brought it to this point if they didn’t have the votes

Care to put a bet on that? Loser has to change their avy and sig to this for the rest of the calendar year.

***EDIT*** This is for the full vote of the House, not today's Judiciary Committee vote (the Committee vote is a slam-dunk).

Those small numbers seem to indicate that Pelosi will let some purple district D’s vote against impeachment because they have the votes to pass without them.

As opposed to a larger number of defections which would indicate actual opposition

What it does - it allows the Rs to legit state that there is bipartisan support AGAINST impeachment.

Blows open a larger hole in the sinking ship that is the Dems 2020 campaign.

What if a few R’s state openly that they want this in the senate to expose how much of a shitshow this is, so just enough to make sure it passes, but openly stating they oppose impeachment but want the D’s to get what’s coming. That would eliminate the “bi-partisan” support argument the D’s will try to claim.

After yesterday’s fiasco of a hearing for the Dim’s, you would think another fair open hearing in the senate is tha last thing they’d ever want!

I’m not quite ready to say that the Dems are putting their majority in jeopardy. At least not through impeachment alone

Peach mint will be dead and gone from our ADD society by early spring. I’ll be shocked if it’s even an issue in 2020 after the party conventions

Go ahead and stock up on rubber clothing then, it's going to be a central point of both parties. The Dems will attempt to use "he was IMPEACHED" as a rallying cry for support for whoever will be their candidate.

Trump will use the failure of the Impeachment in the Senate (and the House, if possible) as a rallying cry for support.

This will be a central talking point on both sides until one side realizes it's a losing point for them and generating support for their opposition.

I think the vote has a decent chance of failing in the House. When it comes down to the individual Reps from purple districts, they'll have to decide which is more important to their political survival - towing the party line, or actually taking into consideration what their constituents want. It will be interesting as hell, no matter what.

They have to know what the real poll numbers are. The more they push this thing, the stronger Trump gets. Some of the ones not totally invested in this may defect. The ones who are totally invested will have to go down with the ship.

They are Hoping that being able to claim Trump was an impeached president will slow him down. Hillary did have more votes. They will add that the partisan Senate let him off despite their mountain of irrefutable evidence (LOL). It’s their only chance to beat Trump.

It will pass because she is great at counting noses and knew she had the votes before she started or any one on their side saw the evidence.
