LOS ANGELES — James Talarico is headed to Los Angeles to raise money in his blockbuster Texas Senate race.

“Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof and his wife, Heidi, will host a fundraiser for Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Texas, in Brentwood on Sept. 10, according to an invitation obtained by POLITICO.

Lindelof, a three-time Emmy winner, has also been outspoken at times: he penned a piece for trade publication Deadline in 2024 urging President Joe Biden to end his reelection bid after his disastrous debate against Donald Trump days earlier.

Earlier this summer, the Lindelofs attended a star-studded fundraiser for Talarico and three other candidates hosted by media executive Peter Chernin and his wife, Megan.

The get-in price for the Lindelofs’ evening affair in the tony LA enclave is $500, with the cost plateauing at $13,500.

Talarico, a prolific fundraiser and member of the Texas House of Representatives, is vying with Republican Ken Paxton, the state’s attorney general, to succeed Sen. John Cornyn. Recent polling has shown Talarico narrowly leading Paxton, who defeated Cornyn in the Republican primary earlier this year.

Talarico and Beeto are more than welcome to move to California, raise all the money they want over there and run for office there.

It was the same way for Massie. Had tons of outside support and donations but very little in his own area.

This is just a rite of passage for any of the latest DNC candidates in red states. Funding comes from NYC and California.

Texas has boomed for the better part of a century. Know what we need? To have representation like California.

He's a freak, but this is where he should go to raise money. These California/Hollywood types represent his base.

Now, if Paxton is smart he can legitimately exploit this by simply pointing out that this phony has to go to Hollywood to raise money for his TEXAS Senate race. If I were Paxton, I would put out a campaign ad regarding this.

By people on this (overall) conservative site... how strange is that.

It is no different than my response when someone I know talks about Data Centers bad.

"Ah, you're a good little communist, aren't you". Yesterday, I just received a 'Weird look response'.

Talafreako?

Seems to be a defining characteristic of the people fighting for leadership spots in the New Democrat Party - Islamo-Marxist, Transgender lunatics, Raging Lesbians, White Men hating blue haired baby killers, and cackling hen voiced female Presidential candidates.

In other words, certified bonified freaks.

Oh, yes, this race is getting interesting. And I really think the debates is where the candidates will really be able to make their case.

But to your comments: That would be great if Paxton was not going to be supported by Trump’s PAC. At least that’s what everyone seems to be calling for.

And Paxton is the non-native Texan in the race.

He has raised significantly more money in Texas than Paxton to this point.

But there’s also a decent chance that Elon comes in and throws some enormous sum at Paxton, and in politics you gotta try and raise money any way you can to match your opponent.

So did Cornyn and look how that went for being an incumbent. For all the criticism I see of Paxton money isn’t one.

I responded to a comment saying that Talarico can’t raise money in Tx, so he has to go to California simply by pointing out that it’s simply not a true statement.

This should be illegal. You should not be able to accept funds from someone who is ineligible to vote for you.

This is also a stupidly bad move on Talarico’s part. One of the reasons Cruz beat Beto was because of the narrative that Beto was being funded by out of state donors.

I wouldn't be opposed to that. Of course, such a restriction would be met with wailing and grinding of teeth from politicians of all shapes, sizes, affiliations and ideology. Even your "MAGA" ones.

Also, you'd still have PAC accepting money from everywhere and buying up TV ads voices support for one candidate and/or running ads against another one.

Weird. I was told he is a moderate Democrat and will not be led by the crazy arse progressives and communists. He is going to represent real Texas. I wonder how much real Texas, California money buys.
