But like with Arthur Andersen, they had a consulting side so some of those guys got paid more.
You know, I just assumed it was consulting, because those are the groups I’ve had some experience with. They make a lot more, and they pay a lot more then the accounting side.

they do initially, but it is the accounting side that goes on to be bigtime executives in fortune 500 companies most of the time. That is why so many accountants only stay a couple years at the big firms. It is just a resume builder, but you get really big jobs generally with the firms that your are auditing due to the relationships that are built. So initially, yes the consultants make more, but long-term, not so much in many cases. When I started with Arthur Andersen in 98', they paid the least out of all the big 6 back then...plus I had offers from Shell and a few other oil companies for a LOT more. I took the 28K plus OT back then, just to get the resume builder with the best in the business. Of course, a couple years later they went under with Enron....and I moved to Deloitte.

Unhinged But for shits and giggles, please walk us through how this works
Both will come into projects and then add unnecessary stipulations that have nothing to do with the bid at hand and then make you pay them to make sure you meet these stipulations.
I’m willing to bet that I have installed more Palo Alto Firewalls than 99% of the technical workforce and 99.999999999999999% of the planet. Repeating of course
On my last bid that had Deloitte involved they made me submit my resume to show qualifications for installing a PAN firewall. I can assure you I know more about that than any individual at Deloitte. After they reviewed my 12+ year resume they asked for a phone interview.
They gave me a cost for the phone interview. I said that was not happening. Then they wanted us to submit paperwork to provide we were a Texas entity, HUB certified , and other ridiculous questions. After we won the bid, we had to include the Deloitte person on every email event though they had nothing to do with the transaction side of thing technical.
For their efforts, they took 10% from the customer and 10% from us.
It could have been a scenario where the customer saved 10% and we gained 10% with no third party but because somebody told a higher up they needed to get Deloitte involved. For literally 2 hours or work for me and the customer.

You mind if I ask some questions cause I’m genuinely curious. Keep in mind I’m not an IT person at all.
-Were you installing for a Deloitte audit client? If not, don’t know why they would be involved unless your client hired them to consult. If not the rest is moot.
-If it was a Deloitte audit client, was it an SEC Registrant? If yes, I think this can be explained by the nonsense the PCAOB requires.
I used to audit SEC registrants(not for Deloitte) in the banking industry. The stupid shite we were made to do by the PCAOB greatly increased the audit cost.
For example we would have to sit in loan committee meetings where management discussed loans to determine management “gave an appropriate level of consideration”. Complete waste of time.
We were required to get resumes of individuals w/in the bank and consultants they used to “determine” if they were qualified and vetted. Especially for IT cause the PCAOB goes crazy over IT. Again stupid shite that added cost but no value.
I got sick of it and retired at 56. Just wasn’t worth the risk and stress.
Thanks.

This is consulting in a nutshell. Where’s the laundering tho
To insinuate that one of the most scrutinized and risk averse institutions on planet earth’s business model entails money laundering at scale…those certainly are thoughts

It is very difficult to get hired by Deloitte, but a radicalized Muslim was getting $120k per year from them. What are their hiring practices? What was it about a radicalized Muslim that slipped through the cracks of their intense scrutiny of applicants?
The hiring process should have gone like this:
“Who’s the next applicant?”
“Ummmmm, let’s see.. a ‘Shamsud-Din Jabbar’…”
“Oh. Ok. Who’s the next guy?”

Most certainly BlackRock approved DEI is how he got his job.

That's ridiculous. Radicalized Muslims should not be making more than $91k tops. Everyone knows that.
