Death of HHS official Daniel Best is ruled a suicide
Updated Nov 15; Posted Nov 15

quote:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Nov. 1 death of Daniel Best, a pharmaceutical executive from Bay Village who led U.S. Department of Health and Human Services efforts to lower prescription drug prices, has been ruled a suicide, officials in Washington, D.C., said Thursday.

Police say Best was found "unresponsive" near the garage door exit of an apartment building in Washington, D.C.'s Navy Yard neighborhood at 5:25 a.m. on Nov. 1, and was pronounced dead by medical personnel who responded to the scene.

quote:

The city's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Thursday said Best died from "multiple blunt force injuries" and it ruled his death a suicide. It would not release further information.

quote:

In announcing his death, HHS Secretary Alex Azar said the 49-year-old former CVSHealth and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals executive agreed to work at HHS "out of a desire to serve the American people by making health care more affordable."

Interesting symbolism
One of Trump’s “ best” is dead...

He beat himself to death with a blunt object.

That’s a new one.

Clearly it must be a conspiracy and they are going to do a shitty job of covering up. Now you've got something new to "investigate" and theorize about during an otherwise ho-hum holiday week.

POLITICS He’s a former PBM insider now shaping Trump’s drug policy. Will he reveal industry secrets?
By IKE SWETLITZ @ikeswetlitz MAY 10, 2018

quote:

Daniel Best is suddenly leading the government’s campaign to bring down prescription drug prices. But nobody around town seems to know the guy. While he’s a Washington outsider, he’s the very definition of a pharmaceutical industry insider, having spent the last 13 years working for pharmacy benefit managers, the middlemen who negotiate drug prices. Their secretive contracting and business practices have drawn suspicion from lawmakers and administration officials.

Best comes to government directly from CVS Health, where he worked on negotiating drug prices for seniors, following 12 years at the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. According to a financial disclosure form, his salary and bonuses at CVS ran just over half a million dollars. Now, he’s advising Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar on how to reduce prescription drug prices.

quote:

Conversations with pharmaceutical executives and former co-workers reveal that Best is a seasoned negotiator, a tough and unwavering advocate for patient access, and an all-around friendly guy. But one thing remains a mystery: whether he’ll advocate for his former colleagues in the PBM world, or if, in the words of a lobbyist, he’ll show the public “where the bodies are buried.”

quote:

Azar and Best have inside knowledge, he said, which can cut two ways. “They’ll know where the bodies are buried, but they’ll also understand you can go after those bodies only to a certain degree,” the lobbyist said. “You can only shake up so much.

We had the best people...

Here is an exercise for you
Try to find articles/info on the web discussing his death

Review/report back/use introspection

What do you want them to write about a suicide? Should we be given all of the gory details? You know nothing of real detail, but clearly because of your paranoid personality traits and your ignorance of the event you are already convinced it's a murder with a cover-up. Your chronic spewing of paranoia on this board has lead to nothing. You're simply someone chasing an imaginary specter you'll never catch.

If it was a conspiracy they wouldn't leave a question like you have. Isn't it possible he jumped from his balcony?

I find it Interesting that someone can suicide themselves by beating their own head multiple times. This raises many questions such as:
Did he use a weapon to beat himself?
What type of weapon?
By multiple, 3 or more blows to the head?

Maybe it's possible to suicide oneself this way but I can also see why some would question the suicide ruling.

At least they did an autopsy. They skipped that step with Scalia

You don't know that he beat on himself or was beaten by anyone. Guess what? Apartments often are more than 2 stories high and some even have balconies. I'm fairly certain I've heard of a person or two in the past who has jumped to his death.

That’s a shame. I assume he knew there are drugs that can help with that.
