I mean it is really a very unfortunate way to get caught but you're still caught

We had a program. It was called the guest worker visa and the unions killed it.

My good buddy works in one of the carpet factories up there in a managerial position. On the floor, it's all hispanics with fake docs. If you deported them all, there wouldn't be a carpet and rug industry in Dalton. There needs to be a path to legal status for the folks who bust their arse in those factories all day to make MADE IN AMERICA carpets and rugs. ETA- there are Americans who work there too, day shift, but nobody wants to work nights and weekends, except the chicanos. It's a 24 hour operation, 365 days a year. So these mexi's aren't "taking" jobs from Americans in this factory, they are working the shifts that the American's don't want to work. ETA2- There seems to be some regional ignorance here, understandable. Dalton GA is a giant center for carpet and rug manufacturing in this country, it's the "carpet capital of the world" per Google AI. I'm not just talking about one factory. The whole industry would cease to exist without immigrant labor, there needs to be a path for legality besides just using fake docs to work there. I want them to have real docs, and be vetted, and in a data base, etc.

SIAP, BUT:

What is the POINT of saying Made in USA if it’s made by ILLEGALS and not US CITIZENS?!?

NO…fire and DEPORT the illegals, FINE the corporations retroactively, and hire ACTUAL US Citizens at a decent wage.

I don’t buy the “But we’ll go out of business “ argument. F*ck the greedy scumbag owners squeezing extra profit at the expense of American jobs.

you just read comments from a bunch of illegals and/or democrats....it is truly too much for them to understand that she was, in fact, AN ILLEGAL, and should be returned immediately, no questions asked. They have tired to make it where it is ok to be ILLEGAL as long as you aren't committing major crimes...lol.

she should be...enough with the feelings.....If I snuck into a country, committed a crime, and was caught....I'd expect to be deported.

I agree with your sentiment but the reality is this and other manufacturing centers have been ravaged by the influx of illegal immigration for decades. I doubt you could find enough citizens to fill these jobs due to the impact of multi generational poverty, drugs and overall laziness in the local population. I know more than one HS friend that died of a meth OD in that area.

You’d need a huge increase in wages to draw people back in but this would likely kill the margins and put these mills out of business. Also, foreign imports have taken over flooring and driven down costs so it’s a complex problem.

It could be fixed if we had intelligent people working on a multi faceted plan but unfortunately there’s a shortage of these in DC.

Technically, I've been away longer than I was born/raised there, but I did make a mental note that it's always the non-Daltonians who don't call them mills.

There needs to a bridge because you can’t remedy 40 years of turning a blind eye to this problem in one term.

That's certainly a fair point and one that most reasonable people would agree on. Where it goes off the rails are when the bleeding heart types want more blanket amnesty for 20M+ because it assuages their white guilt.

"Oh well, there's too many of them to do anything about it!" as a liberal refrain is a cop-out on their part.

At the end of the day, every illegal alien knows the risks involved and their persistent criminal presence is a tactic acceptable risk on their behalf.

Yes there would be but profit margins would be tighter.

A good friend of mine’s dad was a manager in a dye house in Dalton where they dyed carpet. Truly a hellish job. He said the silent fire alarm got tripped one day so no sound inside but a fleet of fire trucks dispatched and rolled up on the plant. When they heard all of the sirens the place emptied out like a sinking ship. People running from every exit.

He said it took a week to get their work force back to restart operations.

Yeah, fire and life safety concerns there are considerable. That is especially so when 80% of your workforce panics at sirens

So if GA stops me for a seatbelt violation and finds all that cocaine I have yet to snort yet all these people will also come to my defense?

Think I'll get $500k on a gofundme?

Hispanics have limits on how much they are willing to assimilate (especially Mexicans) and it pisses me off. They have a racist idea that their culture and language is superior to all others. Mexico was so great you had to come to the U.S.

Sounds like the carpet factory needs to pay workers more so they don't have to hire illegals. And MADE IN AMERICA doesn't mean shite if it's illegals making it.
