How the hell does Arkansas have over 130 deaths today?

Rhymes with Hata Shuckery.

ETA: That's over 10% of ALL Arkansas COVID deaths.

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a rotation for states to frick with data. And the directors of the departments of health are like, “Arkansas got Wednesday this week!”

I can't find anything online or in the media about a 140 death number for Arkansas today. I see it on WOM though. Gotta be more data frickery.

147 today for Arkansas, 151 for Florida.

Yep, no frickery going on there.

The Arkansas website says “7” for today.

It's days like this where there is obvious frickery with the numbers that makes me want to throw this whole thing in the recycle bin.

This screenshot of my Arkansas Dashboard shows why

Arkansas reported -25K tests today and 147 new deaths when the daily average has been 13

From COVID Tracking Project on Arkansas

The increase in deaths is due to a backlogged addition of probable deaths in Arkansas. The state reported 147 COVID-19 deaths today, a noticeable uptick. We hope to see a backfilled time series moving forward.

Amen. It is just pure incompetence or laziness. If you are going to dump deaths/cases/etc...they should at least include dating information so the data can be properly included.

I had this over there for a while but the powers that be were giving me a hassle about all the linked google charts/sheets, so I just stopped updating it on Hogville.

They are a bit insufferable.

With all due modesty, TD.com is the best sports-related website, period. Chicken has not paid me to say that in quite some time, so this is 100% sincere.

Found out why there was a data dump yesterday. It was to try to call out poor numbers during Biden’s town hall

I feel like every time we start trending down for awhile and people stop sky screaming about covid we magically have a huge bump in cases randomly.

But the heavy lifting is the backlog of so-called COVID deaths they've inventoried. The Death Certificate Matching program might of well have been created by the DNC. In fact, it probably was.

Do you think the bump in cases this week is from the return of college kids to campus?
