If you don't follow COVID Tracking on Twitter, then you should check out their blog.
THey spend a lot of time discussing the issues in the data.

The nay-say-ers all said that FL's low numbers last week were the result of testing sites being closed down the week prior in advance of the hurricane with the name no one ever heard anyone utter ever before. If that was in fact the case, I would think by now that effect would have subsided.

The numbers were down from the storm. Testing was down to 26,000. It went back up along with the results.
Doesn't change the fact it has been declining for weeks. Percent positive is really dropping now.

Indiana just dropped a backlog of deaths. 236
So annoying

Probably won't show on WOM. They don't let that fly.
WOM has 3 for Indiana. Actual number.

Yeah, that 236 dump number would be almost 2x their previous high on WoM (119, all the way back on April 27th. If the number held, it would exceed 7% of all Indiana deaths to date on just a single day (and a MONDAY no less) and (I think) exceed their entire July count.

That's why I don't care for any site that allows for dumps to count on a given day.

Were they real, authentic COVID deaths, or the result of reviewing death records and deciding COVID could have been involved even though the decedent never tested positive for it?

The drop across the board today is pretty dramatic. Max 5.8% positivity. Hospitalizations still heading down.

This is the link to the COVID-19 tracker that I have created and shared on Google Drive.
If you want to view the shared sheet, follow this link COVID-19 Tracker
If you want to download a copy of this sheet and manipulate it follow this link Downloadable COVID-19 Tracker
The source for the data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/
New Cases by State
New Deaths by State
7-day average growth rate of new cases

I assume this is rhetorical.

All of the metrics are moving in the right direction. I am especially happy to see a lowering positivity rate.
The growth rate of new cases is falling rapidly and the growth rate of deaths is starting to signal a fall.

I am very optimistic but to play devils advocate could part of the reason the positive % number is coming down so drastically might be due to some of the same negative people starting to take the test over and over again ?
Like a MLB baseball player or NFL player getting tested 4 times a week testing negitive all 4 times doesn’t this count as 4 neg test in one week but it’s essentially one person but it looks like 4 different people having a negative test .
So if I went and get tested once and came up positive but an NBA player tested 4 times in a week and was neg all 4 times statistically between just 2 people instead of the positive % being 50% it would only be calculated at 20%

Mexico is insane right now. They have done two tests for every confirmed case. That's a 50% positivity rate as a country.
