Cuomo giving parolees right to vote via executive order

Bet he doesn't extend that though process to ownership of weapons.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said on Wednesday that he will sign an executive order giving all parolees in New York the right to vote.
The announcement comes after he noted that the New York Legislature voted down such a measure.
"I'm going to make it law by executive order," Cuomo said during a speech to the National Action Network’s annual conference.
“In this state, when you're released from prison and you're on parole, you still don't have the right to vote,” Cuomo said. “Now how can that be? You did your time. You paid your debt. You're released, but you still don't have a right to vote.” LINK

No you haven't, dumbass. If you are sentenced to five years but you get out after 2 1/2 with 2 1/2 years on parole, that is the state being nice and saying if you be a good boy and follow you conditions of parole and stay out of trouble for that 2 1/2 years, THEN you debt is paid.

I see more if this, as the dems try to mobilize their base. Very similar to the DC proposal to allow 16 yr olds to vote. I think while Trump is in there and R control Congress, they will become strong ‘states rights’ people for the short term.
