Be honest - is there anything economy over which Trump reigned that you’d ever deem “a great economy”? Definitely not is the odds on correct answer to that. So your sentiments are noted, by default. On every topic known to man, Trump is or would be the worst ever at it. We get it.

I'm just curious what an objective definition of "great economy" even is. What I've noticed is all sorts of hand-wringing about deficits, debt, cheap/printed money, etc. However, such hand-wringing seems to mysteriously evaporate when it's your guy in office. Trump literally castigated the Fed for raising interest rates (i.e. making even a nominal move against continued funny money) from historic lows. He also was entirely unafraid of deficit spending.

No, you don't. I voted for Trump. I'd rather have Trump (at least pre-2021 Trump). I just think it's utterly silly to pretend like a POTUS IS the actual economy.

Speaking of objectivity, we're really pretending we had a "great" economy 3 year ago, but now it's somehow terrible? I would submit that a more reasoned and rational observation is: the economy has been more or less pretty good since the GFC, albeit with highly notable (and perhaps unsustainable) supports provided by Central Banks and fiscal policy.

You think the sign of a "great economy" is sub 2% long-term rates (largely due to massive QE) keeping tons of funny money floating around and causing asset prices to go stratospheric? I don't.

And the other side of that coin is, now, inflation. We still have (very) low-unemployment and a generally OK economy...but with unknowns coming from the end of QE and its impact on things like inflation.

I thought Trump was sort of OK on the economy (not nearly as strong as, say, foreign policy). But of course I don't pin my hopes on politicians for my economic life.

Perhaps I'm insulated because I work in a great industry and am in my prime earning years, but all I ever notice is my economic situation improving - year after year - regardless of which stuffed shirt we have in the White House. It would never even marginally occur to me to credit a politician with my success (unless it were shite like the dumb-as-shite final $2 Trillion in "stimulus" Biden signed just after entering office that made assets owned by affluent people like me go parabolic. I was happy to pocket those gains, but I certainly do not support them being handed out to people like me.)

No melting. They'll quietly put their MAGA hats back on and pretend they'd always been wearing them.

It isn't a cult if you support the only man capable of leading this once great country. Only Trump can save us. He is the greatest American president of all time. I'll vote 3rd party (or even 4th party) if he isn't the candidate because he is the only one I trust. I don't even trust myself, just Trump.

The fact I had to check your post history to determine if this was sarcasm or not is rather telling. I noticed at least one poster didn't realize the sarcasm and I bet some of the DVers didn't either.

I was afraid the 4th party thing was too much. Sometimes going full retard isn't enough to stand out.

I'll wear the title proudly. Trump is the first time the party moved out of the hands of religious nuts. And don't even try to deny it. Trump got Roe overturned but that still wasn't good enough for you religious zealots. Now you all want a federal abortion ban and are too dumb to realize how woefully ignorant you are. The Supreme Court ruled that abortion is a state issue. That means the federal government can neither allow it or ban it. But some of you think Ron is going to do just that. This is the best it's going to get on the issue of abortion.
