Minus the support of the NBA, sure.

Different situations entirely except for one big big big similarity: the people are rising up against an authoritarian communist regime because the people want capitalism, individual freedom, and democracy.

Yeah...was about to say that. It's not like Hong Kong has been dealing with decades of poverty.

Other than Cuba does not have nukes, has nowhere near the largest standing military in the world and does not have its tentacles intertwined into all the other economies in the world. Cuba is third world communism. China is first world communism.

List what you think the similarities are.

Because the governments and economic systems of China and Cuba are very different. HK even moreso

I’m struggling to come up with anything that the two have in common beyond their both being broadly governed by what we can call a communist government. That’s it.

Just saw on local news pro-Cuba protests have started here in Florida. We should support them any way we can. The fight against communism must be fought at any given opportunity.

Nay…the Cuba machine is nowhere near as powerful as the mainland China leviathan. The Cubans have a chance; Hong Kong was doomed since the 90s when power transferred.

I’m all for supporting them verbally. Zero material or financial support should be given at this time. If the Cubans rise up and battle the government and are unable to sustain the fight for lack of means, then maybe we consider stepping in.

Until then, the Cubans have to win their own country and/or demonstrate that they actually have beyond a passing interest in doing so.

Can we make a trade like a baseball trade?

We will give them a bunch of spoiled NBA and NFL kneelers and an idiot to be named later for their American flag waving freedom lovers.

We will send Antifa and BLM to Hong Kong in exchange for Chinese capitalists and liberty lovers.

Irrevocable trades.

Yes

“Covid” crackdowns, silence from the left, and a communist regime inflicting violence on its populace make it Hong Kong 2.0.

I get that are different dynamics and facets, but the playbook is aligned.

How furious ( and pathetic ) are the Dems having to witness pro-freedom demonstrators in the streets of Taiwan and Cuba waving the USA flag!!

Isn’t that what the US was doing in Vietnam, fighting communism?
That wasted a lot of lives, those that died and a lot that are still alive.

Especially when considering that, despite nearly two decades of pointless involvement that wasted billions of dollars and tens of thousands of lives….Vietnam remains communist to this day. In fact, Vietnam is one of the most successful communist economic models that has ever existed at the state level.

In short: it was none of our fricking business, and the ball don’t lie.

We should have supported the Green Revolution in Iran, as well.
