Counter to the reparations narrative in California

I’d like to see the black population in the US doing better for themselves just as much as anyone but the reparations narrative is ridiculous.
The opportunity zones Trump was creating in our inner cities is a better approach to improve the economic outlook for all races in impoverished areas that are doing poorly. The long term funding of historically black colleges and universities was another positive step.
The reparations narrative gaining traction in CA is just another tactic for creating / sustaining division between the races.

We all want less crime and to live together harmoniously but the white liberal is a danger to all of us regardless of race.

Everybody has at least 64 direct ancestors from 1840.
the end
the end

Forcing people who never perpetrated the crime of slavery to pay reparations to those who never endured it seems incredibly unjust. That's reason enough for me.

They can only better themselves if you give them free things and money. When those run out and they are still useless then they’ll say it wasn’t enough.

Slavery was a worldwide event....not just the USA!

Newsome is just stalling for time until he concocts a way for the California reparations to be paid with federal funds (aka money from taxpayers in all States).

Reparations has already been paid in full a couple of centuries ago at the end of the Civil War. Not only was slavery abolished everywhere in the USA at the end of the war but the people that was considered African slaves immediately became African Americans and every slave was given citizenship in the greatest country in the world.

Slavery was awful but some of its descendants hit the lottery by being brought here. People are literally dying trying to get here.

Are we going to just ignore the Jim Crow era? I absolutely think this is all overblown, but you can’t say everything was paid in full right after the civil war when my parents lived during a time where AA’s, who were US citizens, didn’t receive the same treatment as white Americans.

There’s no statewide narrative. It’s localized to a few areas. This is just pandering. It won’t pass on the state level. If SF wants to give away money go for it. It won’t change anything there.

Black slave owners numbered in the thousands and they owned, collectively, over 12,000 slaves in the 1830 census.

Equality is unnatural. It has never existed in the history of people. It will never exist. Within in each race the smarter, more industrious people don't want to associate with the dumber and lazier of their own race.

Besides affirmative action in schools, I don’t really see any policies that give AA’s some sort of advantage over me. What government policies/laws give AA’s preferential treatment that I am unaware of?

You live in a country that has a.vice president and Supreme Court Justice in place not for their accomplishments, but in spite of their lack of accomplishments. They were chosen simply because they are black.

My Irish ancestors were discriminated against in the 19th century. My German ancestors were discriminated against during both World Wars. Where are my reparations?

I'm all for reparations if it's taken from the leftist scum who's championing it
