It's whites who have an unequal opportunity to die or be shot in a violent confrontation with police involvement according to the WSJ. Whites are 3X more likely to be shot and 2X more like to be killed in a violence related encounter with police a recent article in The Journal said.

So the rioting and media involvement has worked in that police are less likely to use their weapons or even get involved when a black person resorts to violence. Down side of course for black people is they are far more likely to be shooting each other therefore black on black violence is a booming business. A law enforcement officer relative says: "slow to respond, slow to get there and plenty of advance warning like sirens saves lives and careers, ours".
