The only things Rick Perry is scared of are being ignored and learning books.

FedGov is a monster that grows bigger everyday, its supposed masters gradually becoming its slaves.

I'm really hopeful that one day the federal government under BHO will do something without looking 100% shady as shite.

It has to happen eventually, with the transparency and all.

Really? All people? or just some people?

At every federal facility or just this one?

Can you think of a reason other than political ones that they may have for not wanting everyone from knowing what is going on at this facility?

What other facilities are they protecting from congressman?

The CDC has been researching the infectious diseases brought over from Mexico for years

CDC BIDS Project

This is hard data, which takes time to collect. This has been a problem for years. There has been a recent influx of over 50,000 illegal immigrants...that they know of. It is focused on immigration from Mexico....hence the name The U.S.-Mexico Border Infectious Disease Surveillance Project.

I'm sure the CDC is full of shite though. When is HHS going to make them pull this data down? Wouldn't surprise me if it disappeared due to a hard drive crash or an executive order.

In 10 more years, when we all have TB, scabies, etc they will have all of the hard damn data that they need to show the health risks. Only it will be too late.

But you know Grits you can catch all of these in the good ole USA (plus as the study points out many people cross over on a daily basis for work, etc. on a daily basis) . As a matter of fact TB has made a real comeback in the US. I thought most folks would have had the vaccine but maybe not.

Hard data

The TB vaccine is not a routine vaccination in the US. You don't know wtf you're talking about.

I have to get tested yearly for work. It isn't prevalent in the US. And it isn't making a "comeback". It's not fricking skinny jeans. You get tested then treated if you test positive.

I know.

TB is the new pink eye.

And I wonder why TB is more prevalent in the US these days? Illegal immigration, maybe?

Isn't the Governor Commander in Chief of the National Guard unless POTUS federalizes them? Perry needs to tell Obama to EAD and post HIS National Guard at the border.

I'm asking this because I know you know the answer. I'm pretty sure I do as well. I recall a certain bitch governor not wanting to turn over HER National Guard to Bush after Katrina.

There's a whole litany of laws that go into that shite. There may be something about the guard controlling a federal border without presidential consent. And I doubt even Texas could afford to keep enough guardsmen on the border long enough to do any good.

No such thing. Kids are traveling across Mexico to the US border on their own.

Apparently it's a very lucrative business.

I may start a smuggling company. Then move to DC where I don't have to deal with the aftermath.

Well gee Grits don't be so nice the next time. I know TB did in fact make a rise in the US in the 90s but I did not check to see if that trend continued. And there is a vaccine. I know because I've had it. I have no idea how prevalent the vaccine is but it is available, as I understand it. Obviously the rise of treatment resistant TB is of great concern to everyone. What rustles my jimmies is that whether intentional or not many of the posts here come across as "keep those dirty Mexicans away from us"--at least to me. The fact is that on the border there are no fences against viruses, etc. Many people along the border cross over daily for work, to visit relatives, to shop, etc. There is no wall separating us. And all those things like TB, measles, scabies, head lice are in both countries.
