Yeah, I don't think he's racist, but his job has him dealing with the lowest of the lowest-types. I have some AA cop friends that are pretty much of the same thought, and you wouldn't believe what they think of their own race..but its not really race that's the issue, its that element..

His views are racist as frick, but based based on his experiences, and I don't doubt any of it. If you're going to be critical of black culture, with whatever intentions, you might as well drop the hammer, because you're gonna get skewered regardless.

Haven't those 3 groups labeled Focus on the Family in the same categories?

So looking at the map of hate the Southern Poverty Law Center maintains... Come to find out good ole progressive California has the most hate groups at 77.

Unlike people of other races, blacks never see their lawyer as someone who is there to help them.
Yeah, that's bullshite. Plus, one has to consider for how long and how often they visit with their attorney. Often they, people with indigent defenders regardless of race, have little contact with their attorney prior to the legal proceedings

Speaking as a criminal defense attorney, I've found that race has very little to do with it. Those who come from communities that have antagonistic relationships with police tend to be less likely to trust anyone involved in the system, and that includes their attorney. They will indeed ask little quiz questions to make sure you have the faintest idea as to what you're talking about. They will also try to put you on the defensive in an attempt to make sure that they have gotten the best deal the can. Considering the circumstances, I don't think any of that behavior is unreasonable.
Those who, generally, have had positive experiences with law enforcement prior to their arrest tend to have a completely different demeanor. They trust the system and those working within it to come to a fair resolution. They tend to be easier to work with. But, ultimately, you typically end up in the same place. Some clients just take a bit longer to build up the requisite trust.
That said, it's just a guideline. I've had people who have been mistreated by the system over and over again keep the faith, and I've had clients who have had every advantage act like idiots.
Anyway, the guy who wrote that piece isn't an attorney, much less a public defender, but he's certainly a racist prick.

Who needs to visit the SPLC to know that website/group is racist? I started the article linked - racist BS. Then I clicked on the articles and editorials to see one racist screed after another (with some david dukish camoflage). The article is a farce...this whole thread should be whacked.

Many on here have been channeling their inner "I totally voted for David Duke back in 1991" since all the police/protester controversies. The admins are playing their part, as they always have on this board.

I was kind of hoping that this was a "mistake" and you were just masterfully baiting the hook.

No worries. At least you didn't knowingly link a white supremacist site. I didn't click on anything else. I read the article and then GTFO.
Dude is clearly a racist. Perhaps he deals with black people who don't trust the system because by his admission they are only 10% of the population where he lives. I wouldn't trust anyone either if I was in that small of a minority with a public defender who thinks I'm useless. You can't tell me that his attitude does not come out with his clients. I really hope this guy isn't a public defender.
