Alina Habba is in the same boat. Seems to be no respect for the rule of law.

As are several other interim US Attorneys. This is an enormous issue. It's so big that I think the Supreme Court might invent some equitable rule that saves the Government. Otherwise, there are going to be MANY criminal convictions that are now on thin ice.

I wish I shared your confidence about that. I think they will have serious statute of limitations issues for a man who left office in 2017.

If that is the case, then so be it.

Courts should apply facts to the law to reach a decision, and not reach a decision and then make up some rule to reach the desired result.

I do not know who the "MANY criminal convictions" are, nor do I care. Democrat, Republican, whatever type of convictions, and whoever they may be, if they were wrongfully committed, then so be it.

That's what happens in a nation ruled by laws.

Thanks for saying that. I needed to hear it. I don't know what alternative we have...trial by X?

What happens if the Appeals Court finds that she is lawfully appointed? Comey and James are right back where they were.

IMO I believe there is collusion between these judges and the Democrats. Amazing the timing on some of these rulings.

Did you feel the same way when Aileen Cannon dismissed the case brought by Jack Smith?

We really do not know what Alito said outside of some quotes found here: LINK and perhaps elsewhere.

It is worth noting that the Office of Legal Counsel, a year after Alito's memo, changed course arguing
quote:

that, if the
President removed a court-appointed U.S. Attorney, then the
Attorney General would have the power to appoint another
U.S. Attorney.

quote:

It could be argued that, after the removal by the President of a court
appointed United States Attorney, the power to appoint an interim
United States Attorney shifts back to the Attorney General, because
the court's power of appointment is conditioned on the expiration of a
120-day appointment by the Attorney General.

[EDIT]

Meant to add as well that the statute makes clear that the district court MAY appoint a U.S. Attorney. It is not required to do so. Perhaps even more importantly, there is no limitation on the court to appoint a different or same attorney.

Negative.
This is a Bondi issue. Nothing whatsoever to do with Halligan's competence or lack thereof.
