Court Rules Against Masterpiece Cakeshop Owner Who Refused to Bake Gender Transition Cake

A Colorado Court of Appeals judge ruled against Christian baker Jack Phillips Thursday after he appealed an earlier court decision requiring him to bake a cake for an individual’s gender transition. Phillips won a previous case at the Supreme Court in 2018 after he declined to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, but was sued again in March 2021 after a transgender individual wanted Phillips, who owns Masterpiece Cakeshop, to make a cake that was blue on the outside and pink on the inside.
Same legal argument... can buy what's out there but forcing him to make anything else... big NO

Sounds like a case of involuntary servitude. Forcing people into performance of a job against their will

Chalk this up to 6 decades of exposure to a college system indoctrination

The Civil Rights Act replaced the Constitution. Hopefully everyone is beginning to understand this.

Why can’t trans people go to a trans friendly baker?
Oh wait that’s right because they are attention whores who want to cause a ruckus and make people bend to their will.

No discrimination here.

This is a matter of states rights. This is a Colorado statute.

Scardina, an attorney, tried to order her cake the same day the U.S. Supreme Court in 2017 agreed to hear Phillips’ challenge to the Colorado Civil Rights Commission's conclusion he discriminated against a gay couple for whom he had refused to make a wedding cake.

The cake shop initially agree to make the cake but then refused after Scardina explained it was going to be used to celebrate her transition from male to female, the court found.

“We conclude that creating a pink cake with blue frosting is not inherently expressive and any message or symbolism it provides to an observer would not be attributed to the baker,” said the court, which also rejected procedural arguments from Phillips.
Seems like he was fine with providing service to the customer, and then the customer took things beyond just the cake. Almost like it was planned...

Colorado is vying with CA and OR to be the biggest wackadoodle state in the union. Every day I'm reminded how happy I am to have left as it circles the drain becoming another shithole communist state.

Yup
The fact that the Colorado court ruled the way it did pretty much proves none of them are actual judges.

Because they're children who refuse to grow up. Drama queens extraordinaire.

I guess the right to refuse service only works with straight white males.

Is Masterpiece the ONLY cakeshop in the entire state of CO?
I don't get it. Is his business being targeted on purpose?
Eff this clown world.

But look at it this way...it will be great entertainment listening to the legal "expertise " of our newest SC justice.
Lolololol.

It's certainly amusing, but I also shudder to think of a court where she's in the majority.

Exactly. A cake is offered to anyone. A SPECIFIC cake request is a different story. Should the baker have to make a cake depicting the customer fricking his mom?

Communism, where the meek do inherit the earth, then kill you, then destroy it.
All of these minority friendly laws are an attempt to flip society.
