Now she never will see a woman President in her time.

God rest her soul, but that woman made a complete fool out of herself on election night in 2016. She just kept ranting over and over, "President Obama said Hillary Clinton was the most qualified person to ever run for President. This just proves that men won't vote for a woman!"

A Louisiana girl. I disagreed with her about 99.8% of the time, but sorry to hear this news.

I always respected her as a journalist, back before my eyes were opened and learned to distrust NPR.

Her election night antics in 2016 were just plain embarrassing for her.

Mary Martha Corinne Morrison Claiborne Roberts, best known as Cokie Roberts, is an American journalist and a bestseller-author. She is a commentator on contract to National Public Radio as well as a regular roundtable analyst for the current This Week With George Stephanopoulos.

WTF, over?

Believe she was not in good health, though it wasn't public.

Didn't typically agree with her, but I certainly miss the days of "boring" news featuring respectable people you'd probably nonetheless find to be enjoyable, interesting company over dinner or coffee.

Why did she have so many names?

I used to watch her when David Brinkley hosted ABC's Sunday morning show.

Her family was Louisiana political royalty. None are left here in politics that I know of.

She was democrat that I disagreed with most of the time but she was not abrasive and she obviously was very smart.

RIP

That's what I was thinking. Seems like it should have been in there somewhere.

She spent decades concealing the depth of her political opinions and leanings so as to always come across as a “respectable” or “credible” author, journalist or opinion originator. Like so many others, 2016 ripped that band aid right off.

Being a loyal Democrat, she probably voted once as Mary Roberts, once as Martha Roberts, once as Corinne Roberts, once as Morrison Roberts (probably needed a moustache for that), and once as Claiborne Roberts.

The good news? Being a loyal Democrat, she'll still get to vote in the 2020 election.

There was a time when she (and most others) could keep a rein on their biases when presenting.

That was a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

Agreed

Brinkley, Donaldson, Roberts on a Sunday roundtable.

Media was biased then and I got mad then too, but it was a long way from the outright libelous absurdity you get these days, and frankly our side was easier to listen to as well.

Cokie was a really nice lady despite her politics but Trump broke her in the end.
