We apparently stopped minting new coins and probably stopped printing new bills.
Not a huge issue with regards to big bills like twenties and hundreds but it is a HUGE issue given the rate at which one dollar bills wear out.

Actually, I have a personal story that confirms the coin shortage IS real. Went into a local 7-11 (like a Wawa, Royal Farms, etc.) for coffee. Cashier asking for coins, the store can't get coins from the bank. Family member rolled up $100 in coins and gave the rolls to the manager. Manager very grateful. So yes, hard to believe but it's true!

There is no coin shortage. Go to the casino and cash out, if you are lucky enough to cash out, there are plenty of coins in those machines.
Hmmmm....been awhile since you were at a casino...no more coins. They print paper tickets that you redeem at the cashier or a money machine.

I have 18 water cooler bottles full of coins
If I put them back in circulation then coin shortage will be over

What casinos still use coins?
Few joints on Fremont street do...not sure who else

You people with your conspiracy theories lol
Just about every industry has shut downs or is short workers but somehow you think the US Mint doesn’t? LOL. Maybe he US Mint gets their worker pool from some other base like martians or moon people?
With all of the efforts for 20 years to get rid of the penny in your mind the US has to resort to a conspiracy to dump coins. Haha.
The Coin Shortage is very real. it isn’t a boogie man under the bed.

Who here actually carries cash, anyway? And if you do, are you my dad?
I rarely, I mean, almost never, have cash on me. Usually I have zero. Sometimes I might have a couple bucks.
Once people realize how awesome tap to pay, apple pay, etc, really are... I can see a lot of people not turning back.
Congrats, you are a poster child for what the Fed, Central Banks, Big Govt, Big Brother, Globalist Cabal, Beelzebub,etc..all want..
Book of Revelation..sheep ready for the Mark of the Beast..and future slaughter!
I don't know who's Pods you need more..Jack Van Impe, Charles Stanley, Hagee, Laurie,etc..or Robert Kiyosaki, Peter Schiff, Ray Dalio, Jim Rogers,etc..?
They may all worship different God/gods, earthly or celestial, they may even vote differently, but they'd all agree on your post being wrong.

Well said Roar.
Nothing they want more than a cashless society. I bitch about it to the grandkids who are basically clueless as to what's going on around them.

I think the printing press is going burrrr.
Last time I got a C-Note, it was fresh and crisp.
It even had Steve Munchin’s signature instead of one of Obama’s minions.

Only around 5% of the nations money supply exists as cash. Getting rid of it is not going to affect tax revenue or monetary policy any significant amount.

He wants you laughing & disbelieving his existence.
And the aforementioned want you believing they can be trusted with your net worth, and that they will not take advantage of you.
What could possibly go wrong?

No but it would allow the government to track/confiscate wealth much more easily.
