But this is the truth though. Im more engaged than 75-80% of the public but the last 12 months my eyes have completely glazed over. I have watched a grand total of 1-2hours tops of cable news because its the same cycle over and over. Massive leftist hysteria over some menial thing with the WH going crazy with denial and it blows over in 24 hours. This whole thing about paying someone for their silence during a campaign? My underlying assumption is it occurs in 90% of presidential campaigns and this is the first time its actually been looked for and caught. At this point I dont even care what the outcome is Im just so sick of the charade in DC. It sucks because overall the economy is rolling and I think the country on the whole is in the best position its been in a while despite the histrionics that occur on a daily basis.

I'm more disinterested in politics than I've ever been, because the back and forth has just become noise. I loathe turning on Fox to hear their dumb spin, and I sure as hell don't want to listen to CNN/networks drone on about Russia.

I think this is an overreaction but lets just play this for a second. What does this have to do with Russia? Do you think this affected the election result?

It's not good for Trump from a PR perspective, but the charge isn't as bad as it sounds like it is. This is not the biggest deal in the world. It's going to get overblown, but this will eventually fade as people dig further, and understand what the charge he plead to actually is.

This. Literally nothing that came out today is new news. The penalty for violations like these are fines. This will be in the media for a few weeks until the next thing they come up with.

Cohen plead to something, in contradiction to a prior statement, after getting the screws put to him about taxi medallions.

This is a total loss for Mueller and the Dems. A loss for Cohen. And a nothingburger for Trump.

The problem I have with this is the selective prosecution because of his association with Trump. That makes this a pure political prosecution due to his proximity to a person powerful political entities want out of office.

Sure, but it's not as "remote" when it stems from the investigation, which, of course, is the problem with broad investigations in the first place.

Sure, but does anyone think Manafort and Cohen are getting railroaded?

Manafort may be a scumbag but 240 years in prison for white collar crimes in which no innocent person was hurt is fricking crazy and grounds for a pardon or at least a commutation.

Wasn't Obama campaign found guilty of this? What happened to him?

The Dems are blowing there load over nothing!

all the other charges have nothing to do with Trump.

Oh my. Such a nefarious sounding accusation. Trump directed his attorney to enter into an nda. Absolutely nothing will come of this. Except the sky screaming when his one doesn’t work either.

But then he was installed as deputy national finance chairman of the Republican National Committee. Then he allegedly committed a violation at the direction of the President. You can't make this shite up

B, Is it your belief that there will be no political price to pay in light of this subject?

True, but it is almost never sentenced as such.

And Trump won't even see a fine here. Cohen isn't the judge and jury. This plea deal likely included very specific language, which offers significant innuendo but is ultimately hollow. They didn't even name Trump so as to be totally sheltered from any backlash.

And Bush and Clinton and Bernie and Hillary....and hundreds of congressmen. Just let them have their day. It’s a really bad look for trump. It will be out of the news in three weeks.

Of course there will be. It won’t be impeachment. Do you honestly think he will be impeached over this?

Right, but its fairly clear this dude is being used as a pawn to get to Trump. Not because his conviction serves any sort of justice, but because its part of larger plan to bring down Trump.

Thats banana republic tactics, which I guess shouldnt surprise me at this point.

People are jumping to the conclusion that because Cohen said it, Trump is now convicted of something.

Do we even know if Cohen is getting an FEC fine from this?
