It's not gone. Federal investigations take forever. People complain about Mueller but he's gone lightning speed compared to usual white collar federal cases.

They had a completely cooperating Michael Cohen, they had/have the attention of the country, and they have the full Mueller investigation at their disposal. It would seem this is not your typical investigation from a resources and time to completion perspective.
