“There was a good chance that I wouldn’t have won, in which case I would have gotten back into the business, and why should I lose lots of opportunities?” -Donald Trump
The potential deal was worth well over 300 million dollars. If the article is true, everything makes sense now.
Trump didnt think he could win, was setting up for a huge pay day. Was running against a nutcase in Clinton that no one liked and messed around and won. Then woke up and realized damn all of this messy crap we were doing could come back to bite me. I gotta try and clean it up.

Doesn’t mater, all politician are crooked. So far Trump has been a fantastic President.
I regret not voting for him last time, but he’ll definitely get my vote if he runs again.

Then what is Mueller waiting on?
And why the hell did he not change Cohen with obstruction? That is a much better charge to loop Trump in, instead of a feckless process crime.

Cohen was his lawyer. Trump could say fix the god damn problem. It is Cohen's responsibility to stay within the law not Trump's. Not in any way shape or form.
If he ordered Cohen to break the law, that is another thing but given the fact Cohen taped everything, if Trump was on tape telling him to break the law. Mueller would already have wrapped up his report 6 months ago.

You need to think bigger here, Gumbo.
Why were they bothering to conspire to lie about Trump Tower to Congress here?
Why not say to Congress that the Trump Tower deal went on through the duration of the campaign (as Rudy Guiliani has later implied)?

It certainly isn't illegal as long as it's not part of a larger crime. So I'll ask you the same question I asked Gumbo - why do you think they're covering their tracks on this?

I find it hard to believe that Trump came out and told someone to lie to Congress. This story seems like fake news.
I could see the organization doing a PR campaign to minimize emphasis on something, but they aren’t going to document about something so absolutely stupid.
On top of that it is hilarious the bending over backwards to “get” Trump when it is clear as day the law breaking and corruption by all these career politicians. It should scare the shite out of the American people the corruption of the political world so blatantly in the open

There's an operative line from All the President's Men here:
Forget the myths that the media's created about the [Trump org]. These are not very bright guys and things got a little out of hand.
