So Trump told Cohen to commit a felony?
How exactly is it a felony to pay off a few bimbos from talking?
And what documented proof does anyone have that Cohen is now telling the truth? He's already on record saying Trump didn't know about the payments.

Thats exactly what Trump did. Why do you feel the need to excuse it?

That's exactly, word for word, what he was told to say by the Mueller team to create as much disinformation and chaos as possible.
It's also exactly the truth, albeit nothing to do with Russia.

Good luck proving that a man paying off his side piece was principally done to influence the election, not to keep his wife from finding out.
I’m not saying it wasn’t. Just good luck proving it.

Even if true, it’s just about sex right? If knowingly lying under oath doesn’t cost Bill Clinton his presidency, why does paying off someone to keep them quiet cost Trump his presidency?

My response is shock. That people can just wonder about free and use money to influence people and their votes.
What has freedom wrought us? Hmmmm.

Let's be real here. Even if these things had come out prior to the election, the result would have been the same. No one cares if Trump did or didn't sleep with these two women. This had no effect on the election.
Eh, probably wouldn't have changed anything, but who knows?
I still don't understand why Trump has spoken so cluelessly about all of this. Everyone involved said it happened except him. It's not a huge deal, and definitely not one worth a continuous lie.

IMO the NY Times is making it sound a lot more nefarious than it is.

Cohen is a sideshow. Cohen made a deal to say anything to save his arse. Why did Mueller dump this on US Attorney's in Manhattan if this was anything.
Exactly. You think Mueller isn’t desperate for ANYTHING “big” to hang on Trump after all these months of calling out his investigation, questioning Mueller’s shady past, and straight up threatening his job multiple times?
He has all this pressure from Dems and never-Trumpers to produce some sort of result to vindicate them all, he knew about this whole ordeal months ago when it was first reported, and yet he punted this one away to the SDNY.
If THAT’S not a crystal clear sign that there’s nothing here, nothing is.

Something to consider:
Trump has been a known philanderer for decades now. He basically wore it on his sleeve back in his celebrity days.
People voted for him already knowing that past history. I doubt adding one more affair (stormy) would have mattered to voters
If the pussy tape didn’t matter, I doubt another affair story would have.
If trump is cleared of Russia stuff but gets politically damaged from a fricking porn star affair, I would be frustrated. It is such a silly thing to go down over
If dems win house in 2018 and take senate, it will be interesting to see how voters would react to impeachment over hush money.
Personally, I think it is not something large enough to get impeached over

If I give $5 to a candidate it is a payment for the purpose of influencing an election.

There is no way to know how much the pussy tape mattered, but I agree that he probably still wins if this came to light.
The pussy tape was spun as boys being boys. Sleeping with porn stars while your wife is pregnant or has a young child (I'm not sure of the timing) would have been a tougher road to hoe, pun intended.

Cohen is a liar, a tax cheat, illegally taped conversations, and hired a scum democrat/Clinton lawyer. He'll have his own show on CNN by the end of the week.
Exactly
But more so than Cohen, it's those piles and piles of financial documents that Cohen thought he had hidden from the authorities in that storage locker that are the real liars.
All that blabbing about tax and bank fraud.
It's obvious those documents made stuff up in order to cut a deal.
Can you blame them. A 2016 tax return with supporting schedules wouldn't last a day in prison.
