so fricking what? Where does the majority of SA cocaine end up? And frankly, why does it matter as long as we know some of it ends up here?

This is a giant red herring.

So that the stashes containing fentanyl-laced heroin and cocaine in South America doesn't trace the fentanyl back to medical stockpiles rather than domestic manufacturing? Are you basing that on your "decades of history and data?

Perhaps you need to stop living in the past? [link= LINK

quote:

However, aside from Argentina, the other three countries have experienced a significant increase in seizures of licit fentanyl—diverted from medical facilities—in the last few years of recorded data, albeit from a very low baseline.

There ya go, I even highlighted it for you.

quote:

The literal justification for the attack is fentanyl.

Nobody would give 2 shits about attacking cocaine shipments in 2025. 40 years ago? OK, but we have learned over that 40 years it's pointless.

Again, you might as well be saying "the literal justification for the attack was child sex trafficking" then going on to say that "no one gives a shite about" attacking sex trafficking rings involving adult women.

And contrary to your stance, a LOT of people give more than 2 shits about cocaine shipments in 2025, thus the attempt to stop the actions against smugglers by trying to rationalize with a nonsensical "well it's not fentanyl" argument.

They are dangerous and unprecedented, which doesn't require me altering my comment at all.

The admin is combining the War on Drugs with the War on Terror in literally unprecedented ways.

Reminder: Both the War on Drugs and War on Terror are terrible and have lasting negative effects on US citizens domestically.

So are they are going to get shrink inflation too ? All the big corporations do it, instead of buying a eight ball they are going after a 6 ball at the old eight ball price

A hypothetical "6 ball" would be 33% larger than an 8 ball.

There are some people in the independent media circuit saying we completely made up this Cartel de los Soles. It's why this whole thing is scary -- how would we even know?

Sure if is. The MAGAs on this board support the biggest tax increase in 40 years.

Wrong

"sex trafficking" = fentanyl. Both are new boogeymen terms to rally support for expansion of federal government power, replacing old boogeymen.

You'd have to show that the particular fentanyl was making it to the US

We know that almost all of fentanyl coming into the US is coming in through Mexico and Canada, via China.

Imagine arguing against cocaine from South America being more difficult to get. TDS is something to behold.

If you want to double down on the scary, the admin will hide behind "national security" to prevent any review.

People are just being dumb partisans and adopting policy positions they're told to within their in-group, and not thinking about the bigger picture.

Always a possibility. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to limit foreign drugs from making their way here.

Much of Colombia's cocaine crop is smuggled through Venezuela due to Maduro's cartel friendly government and the Colombian government strategic partnership with the US.

But you just said they've been happening for 50 years. And yet NOW is the time to start investigating them.

The argument morphed from "they are fishermen" to "its illegal" to "fighting drugs runners wont work".
