That was fantastic. Loved how he asked her to explain what her department does and she couldn't explain what the department is without resorting to word salad, which he called her out on that too haha. Tons of respect here.

I fooled around and watched dang near the entire thing. As much as I want to dislike him, for no real reason, I continue to like what he does and says. Will be very interesting to see how he does.

"Where everyone feels good...black folk, Hispanic folk, Asian folk.". Left out the "folks" that makes this a real boom, cause he just mentioned the "bipoc" folks. Especially since I'm sure the folks that shall not be mentioned is 2nd most repped on his team.

TBird asked if the same is true of a ghetto and Black folks, and I said that I thought so. He asserted that I was generalizing about all Blacks, based upon a ghetto. As to that one sentence, I probably did generalize a bit, though I had made it clear previously in the thread (a) that there are many sub-groups within the Black community and (b) that the same observation applied to ANY member of an "outsider" group living and working within an "in group."
Basically, it was a semantic "gotcha," and (yes) I fell for it. I continue to believe that the concept is correct. "Live with folks and you understand them better than someone who has not lived with them." TBird continues to assert that he disagrees with this broader observation, which continues to baffle me from a sociological perspective.
The usual folks immediately started pretending that I claimed to know more about Black folks than TBird and more about gays than SOS. Of course, I said neither of those things.
This place is overrun with trolls. It is what it is.

I used to loathe Deion, and thought JSU was a publicity stunt. He's impressed the hell out of me and proven me wrong every step of the way.
He will either have to conform or be a target at CU though. That place is one epicenter of insanity.
