He purposely changed "he's one of ours" to "we've never heard of him" and it's somehow "relaying accurate information"?

What was his intent? You altered an email... Was the intent a bad joke?

It sounds like his defense attorney is arguing that regardless of what the email said from the CIA, he was convinced otherwise. He tampered with the evidence so that it would better align with the "truth" as he understood it. These are the kinds of "lawyers" running amok within the FBI leadership. Fcking insane.

And when he realized his error, he made attempts to correct it of course. I mean, that's what you'd do if you didn't mean to . . . RIGHT?

This guy did this intentionally. He was on record responding about the FISA review, and panicking that his name was all over it. Somebody link that response, it was an admission of guilty. Again, the info is out there that this was intentional

According to the IG report, Clinesmith, or FBI attorney 2, sent instant messages to different people, including: “I mean, I never really liked the Republic anyway.” “As I have initiated the destruction of the republic, would you be so kind as to have a coffee with me this afternoon?”

“I’m clinging to small pockets of happiness in the dark time of the Republic’s destruction.”

He later sent an instant message to FBI Attorney 1 commenting on the amount of money the subject of an FBI investigation had been paid while working on the Trump campaign. FBI Attorney 1 responded, “Is it making you rethink your commitment to the Trump administration?” FBI Attorney 2 replied, “Hell, no, Viva le resistance.”

The classic lefty "but he didn't mean to" defense.
Yeah, and until they stop getting away with it, they will continue to do it.

Plenty of people that "didn't mean to" murder that innocent bystander with a stray bullet are in the penitentiary for life. They didn't get to use that excuse, so why do politicians and government officials?

He didn't intentionally sit on the "unintentional" change to the email for 3 and 1/2 years while Trump was being drug through the mud and impeached and others were having their lives ruined either, I suppose.
