“Kevin deeply regrets having altered the email," Shur said. “It was never his intent to mislead the court or his colleagues, as he believed the information he relayed was accurate, but Kevin understands what he did was wrong and accepts responsibility.”

What was his intent? You altered an email... Was the intent a bad joke?

The classic lefty "but he didn't mean to" defense.

Why does he understand he was wrong if he believed the info was accurate?

That sounds like Bill Clinton saying he didn't do it. But in case he did do it, it wasn't his fault.

of course it wasn’t done to just mislead the court. It was done to lie to the court and commit a criminal act. Which is why your client is pleading guilty.

If it concerns Carter P and changing from "was a source" to "was not a source", it changes the subject from a good guy to a bad guy.

This is my first read of the situation and I could be wrong. If not, it is a pretty big deal and one that will provide Mueller, Wiseman, et al with pretty bad optics on the deal.

Should be "unintentionally" executed. We all make mistakes.

Somebody sloshed drunk and driving doesn’t “intend” on killing someone

So his defense is that he unintentionally intentionally altered an email. Got it

You overtly change the wording in an email to say exactly the opposite of what it is supposed to say...but he didn't mean it.
