I always come back to, if there was an Ice Age thousands of years ago, what caused the earth to warm up? there were no automobiles or polluting industrial smokestacks back then...

Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson are 2 outspoken people that align with the idea that the Earth experienced a cosmic event by passing through the remains of a debris field of an asteroid (Younger Dryas). The earth was bombarded every year for about a month for many years. This led to the breakup of the ice wall in North America.

I am just relieved that the pendulum is starting to swing the other way.

For a long time now, (Obama election) it has seemed like the momentum has all been one way. Sometimes, say about the left ten years, the momentum has been at breakneck speed.

Looks like someone turned up the heat too much, and the frog jumped out.

But what other than climate change explains the more easterly track of violent tornadoes in the past 15 years, and the increased prevalence of major hurricanes in the Atlantic basin in the past 20 years? Nowadays any storm that develops in the Gulf in August, September or October can strengthen from a tropical low to a Cat 5 behemoth in only 24 hours!

If scientists were honest, they'd say they don't know for sure. Instead, they jump to the most profitable conclusion.

Did they learn that by deciphering drawings in a cave?

Sort of. It has to do with artifacts in caves around the world from around the same time frame. I want to say they also did some work to know what the sky was like in that time frame.

So if they watched the planets and stars proximity in the sky, they would know when the meteor shower was about to begin. Much like the Geminids meteor shower is the same time every year.
