Can anyone recommend/provide some links for why this is all likely horseshite?
Does atmospheric CO2 drive temperature, or does temperature drive atmospheric CO2?
(1) If CO2 is the cause of temp flux, how does one explain the regularity of preanthropocene cyclical CO2 atmospheric undulation?
(2) OTOH, as over 93% of terrestrial CO2 is contained in the ocean, and we know the solubility of gas (CO2) in liquids (the oceans) decreases with increasing temperature, if solar variance is responsible for cyclical temp flux, as the sun heated the oceans more CO2 would enter the atmosphere. As the sun cycled down, the earth would cool, and more CO2 would be absorbed into the oceans. IOW, increased temp causes increased CO2, not the other way around.
Considering the nature of of the graph, #1 seems extremely improbable (to be kind).

It matters because they are saying the rise in co2 is causing climate change and they’re wrong, especially with co2 at such a low percentage.
I disagree. We don’t know for sure that rising CO2 levels are causing some global warming, but it is highly likely. And as Elon Musk said, it would be foolish to test this by running the experiment.
As to your assertion that optimal plant growth requires 5x the current CO2 levels, well, that’s a bizarre assertion that’s apropos of nothing. Who cares about optimal plant growth? I want what’s optimal for people, not plants.

Co2, over the course of earth’s history, has been driven by rise and drops in temperature. This undermines the whole premise of co2 causing global warming. They have it backwards. The reason this happens is because the biggest reservoirs of co2 is the oceans and ice caps. When it gets warmer, co2 is released from these reservoirs. Co2 is absorbed when it gets colder. Co2 rise always happens several hundred years after rise in temperature.

Yea, plants aren’t important. They just eat up co2 and provide food and habitat for animals all over the earth. The earth takes care of itself. Co2 goes up, plants grow faster and bigger, sucking up more co2

He’s just another uneducated moron that refuses to look at the evidence for both sides of the argument. The US is full of these people

Is this like pretending to care about an optimal global surface temperature that we can't even measure?

There is so much crap being floated on the topic that some pretty bright folks can get insnared.
But in the end, the undoing of a CO2-drives-warming thesis is the question of an atmospheric "off-switch". If CO2 drives temp, then as atmospheric CO2 rose (as we've see in ~0.1Ma intervals), it would warm the oceans. Warmed oceans would release more CO2, causing more warming, and so forth, until the oceans boiled. There would be no mechanism, certainly no cyclically repeating mechanism, to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

The change in climate is real.
I think the horse shot element is the cause and the fix.
Humans aren’t the cause and humans can’t fix it.
Extremes are happening.
Storms are worse.
Variations are real.
It’s just not all our fault.

No, they aren’t. They have gotten better

The thing itself is real, but mostly/entirely natural. Maybe industrialization sped it up a bit, who is to really say?
Like many have said, there are a lot of other environmental issues that would be a lot less divisive if we would try to fix those. No one is pro pollution, get that shite out of the ocean.

Here are some newly discovered carbon sequestration devices.

There's a meteorologist named Joe Bastardi who is very good.

CO2 cannot cause global warming. I'll tell you why. It doesn't mix well with the atmosphere, for one. For two, its specific gravity is 1 1/2 times that of the rest of the atmosphere. It heats and cools much quicker. Its radiative processes are much different. So it cannot -- it literally cannot cause global warming. --- Joe Bastardi, Fox Business, March 9, 2012.[17]

Co2 contributes to 3.6% of the greenhouse effect. Co2 has increased .008% since the 1950’s. Co2 makes up .04% of the atmosphere. How dumb do people have to be to believe that co2 is causing global warming?
