Higgins’ office offered this statement:
Higgins’ office offered this statement:
quote:
“We are shocked and saddened to learn of allegations against Jerod. His arrest is deeply troubling. Jerod has been placed on administrative leave, pending investigation and adjudication.
Should our office be approached during the investigation, we will cooperate fully. We are a Constitutionalist office, thus we have full faith in our judicial process.
The Congressman has complete confidence in the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. Investigations like this are complex, and although we are shocked by this, we have faith in our judicial system and the authorities involved.
Our office will move forward without interruption. Our dedication to service is stronger than any challenge.”

Whats he charged with? $25,000 bond according to the article so I’m guessing he did a lot more than just get an old rub n tug.
I hope he skips on bail too and Clay records one of those cajun John Wayne videos again for him to turn himself in or be hunted down by the law

Pandering and solicitation. Massage parlor = whore house.

Why should I care again that some woman agreed to give a guy a handjob for money?

You can get arrested for going to a rub and tug in Louisiana? That's pretty harsh.

no melt here. I often wonder if Higgins is just satirizing conservatives and quotes like that only make me wonder more

They never say exactly how he was pandering and the Advocate article says that one of the Asian ladies used the same address as his home. I wonder what the back story is.

Victimless crime. Don’t they have better things to worry about? Dude is probably working 90 hour weeks and just needs a release once in a while. As long as the girls were willing participants, and not some sex slave worker, I just say move along and clean up the streets. We have far bigger issues to deal with.

I always associate rub and tub arrests with the constitution

Yeah. Talk about a not-so-happy ending.

You cannot claim to be small government conservative and go after consensual sex work in which everybody is a willing participant and there's no coercion.
The cops may think they're helping but they're only ruining so many lives here. The sex workers here are at rock bottom here and they just dug a new bottom for them and made life even harder for them and they just ruined an innocent man's professional reputation over something he had no nefarious intentions to harm anyone.
frick this nanny state big government bullshite from social conservatives.

I think everyone is missing the point. They're not after Solicitors.
This guy worked for the Government and in cahoots with a woman running the brothels (they shared same addeess). Pandering means he was Recruiting women (acting as middle man or pimp).
One of the girls in the bust has been confirmed a sex slave.
I'm all for people getting their rocks off, but not sex Slavery.
