She needs to raise her children.
That's what their family is all about and rightfully so.
She's young. There's time later for her to pursue a political career- she'd be wonderful at it.

Those kids are the reflection of her love with Charlie and her living connection TO him... I'd imagine she wants to spend more time with them than on campaigning and then holding office.
