Certain states taking away the right of their voting citizens and giving the electoral votes to the popular vote winner.

It wouldn't immediately lead to a "war" but the left packing the Supreme Court with 6 leftist justices would pretty much destroy the Constitution and put us on an accelerated path towards that.

The only way we avoid some sort of severe conflict down the road is if the left moderates somehow.
I see no way how that happens.
The Left is continually sliding into a totalitarian mindset and at some point their designs on totalitarianism will bump up against the untold millions in this country that want no part of it and will resist it.
It’s just a question of what the trigger will be. As said in this thread, gun confiscation would certainly do it.
People tend to have their world view based on what they have experienced during their lifetime. Most people alive right now were born after 1940. They can’t imagine a civil war.
We have already had a Civil War.
It’s can happen.

This is what I was coming in for. Nullify the current electoral college process + severely restricting gun ownership....may well lead to a dangerously cornered portion of this country.
That said, OP's right in the sense that Americans for the most part dont have the stomach for killing, especially each other. But truly desperate circumstances can change a man in scary ways.

I find it interesting that all of these things mentioned would have to be done by legislation, cooperation of the executive branch and survive the review of the judicial.
If progressives achieved those things outside of an actual, honest to God military coup, then that means it was that progressives had veto proof majorities in Congress or control of the White House as well.
With that being the case...if the people voted for that dont they deserve what they get? Elections have consequences, yes?

I would kill and die to keep the United States from becoming Venezuela because I have children.

I dont live in a large city but thankfully I have enough guns and ammo to make a wall of dead bodies like in 300. Probably start with a head on each T post around the property lines.
