City of Portland denies permit for right-wing Proud Boys rally, citing COVID-19 concerns

The bureau said it had consulted with Mayor Ted Wheeler, who is also the police commissioner, and decided that those attending would not be able to comply with social distancing rules because of the large numbers of people.

That's why the left NEVER files for a permit, they just gather unlawfully. All of these laws including gun laws are only geared for law-abiding citizens, not for law breakers.

Strategically, I think this is a mistake. They'd do Trump a service by not having his campaign stuff anywhere around it. They should just tick to American flags and force the media to call what would be a 100% Pro America rally against an Anti-American Antifa onslaught "Pro-Trump." Plus...there will inevitably be violence, and there will almost certainly be some Proud Boy kicking the shite out of some Antifa idiot. No reason to have them waving a Trump flag while doing it.
