No they are not. They are socialists. And if you don’t think “socialist” is opprobrium enough then you don’t understand what “socialist” means. It is a hideously stupid economic plan that gets rid of competition and the supply and demand curves setting prices. It sets up bureaucrats as the determiners of quantity produced and where to deliver it.
The only differences between “communism” and “socialism” is that communism has, as a tenet, atheism; and communism includes the preposterous belief that the state will eventually wither away, and we humans will live as in Eden, holding hands and sharing the world’s bounty.
