Russia and Mexico gobbling up Chinese cars.

China is on track to become the world's top car exporter this year for the first time ever, Nikkei Asia reported on Friday
quote:
Statistics show the country exported 4.41 million automobiles from January through November, up 58% from the same period in 2022. China thus overtook former export leader Japan, whose full-year total is expected to be around 4.3 million. According to the report, the last time Japan dropped from the top spot was in 2016, when it was surpassed by Germany.
quote:
The report pointed out that the surge in Chinese exports to Russia followed the exodus of Japanese and Western automakers from its market amid new sanctions. CAAM statistics show that China exported 730,000 vehicles to Russia in the January-October period, seven times as many as a year earlier.

Mexico was the second-largest export market, with the volume of Chinese cars there soaring 71% to 330,000 units.

Most will be inoperable within 2-4 years.

The EV wokesters in the link don't realize that the charging infrastructure simply does not exist, especially in Mexico and Russia. Britain announced it has over 1M EV's registered but there are less than 60K charging facilities available. That info was reported either in the UK Sun or Daily Mirror.

Easy to do when your R&D consists of buying an already built car.

Yep and China has no problems dumping products at a low price. They see Mexico and Russia as markets since major manufacturers have raised their prices considerably during the last 2 years.

Evil China trying to take over the world by *checks notes* selling cars that people can actually afford.

Offered 7 years warranty. If not repairable, they give you a replacement.

Well hell, they don't have room for them, they have to export them.

Worked on a court case where American bowling companies were suing Chinese manufacturers because they cheated on the specifications resulting in constant breakdowns.
Bowling in China is extremely popular with massive bowling alleys. However, they have a staff of maintenance workers always present to keep the automated machines working.

After the stunt that US auto workers just pulled, I'd be all for China sending cheap vehicles here - but I have no confidence that they would work more than about 20,000 miles.

They’ll learn how to make good ones over time, and they’ll come to dominate the low and even middle end market. Luxury will be hard because of the made in China stigma.

I’m not a fan of any Chinese product, however, there are a huge amount of Chinese made components in “American made” automobiles.

And they’re moving up the production chain to finished products. They’ll do this with almost everything they manufacture.

Which car companies make them in IB Freemans home country?

China should take notes from Western car manufacturers. sell sedans and trucks at 50% over msrp.
seriously though, who the frick thinks anyone would buy a 2024 Tacoma for 60K? I can understand selling the TRD Pro trim at luxury car prices, but the lower trim levels. lol. frick the current car market. hopefully China ruins all of these cocksuckers.

China has a VERY large and motivated workforce, and they are smart. Our WF is spoiled, and has seldom known real deprivation or hunger, not so with many Chinese.
True that the CCP does not respect private property (R&D Rights) and will employ 'stolen'*?* tech in a NY second with zero damage to their cultural 'conscience'. And take it to the bank.
Trump imposed massive tariffs, but that was temporary, as we can not more do without China (Antibiotics at the fore) than can they currently dump our market. Thing is, our market is going away as it has been based on printed money instead of real production. They know this, and are working to establish other markets. When the USD goes and our affluence goes with it they'll dump us as well.
I much respect the Chinese people as a whole, but they seem to have a very cold and pragmatic 'heart' in ways that our ethnic (European heritage) populous does not. Maybe they were so poor and hungry that they had to eat their dogs instead of lavishing them with love like we do, but that pushes buttons for me. Having holidays to celebrate that still, is a window into the current cultural mindset, and should not be ignored when dealing with them. Realism rules. I could be wrong.
We'll soon see if all the new immigrants are motivated to produce, or come here to slack and demand the equal $ that the Dems promise (DEI).

that people can actually afford.
Yeah. But break down after a year.

Hmmm, I've seen articles of pics showing thousands of brand new Chinese EV cars rotting in garbage lots. No one is buying them.
