Their lies are almost pathological and they continue to lie. The needle doesn't seem to move in number of positive cases, much less deaths.

The Guardian

There's so much here to chew on in this article that posting quotes from it don't do it justice. Read it. China is now refusing to test at hospitals in Wuhan, and unless someone is actually symptomatic, even if they test positive, are not included in the official numbers, but even more, because they already were counted once as positive, once they are showing symptoms, they don't get counted because they already were once, even though China didn't include them in the numbers.

They are and have been risking the world's health with their denials and lies. They need to be severely and economically punished.

On the John Hopkins site China has gone from 80,000 to 81,000 in last 2 weeks. This is major BS.

My reparations can be cash, 1 Chinese of age female gymnast, 1 Chinese of age female volleyball player, and a good cajun dinner with catfish & gumbo as primary dishes

I'll be shocked if China doesn't grow EVEN STRONGER once this current plague is over.

All of this blathering and fist-shaking reminds me of the masses after 9/11: We are going to Nuke Mecca! We are going to turn Afghanistan into a parking lot!

Neither happened. In fact, go check out how many billions of our tax dollars have been spent to actually BUILD UP Afghanistan with infrastructure that they would not have built for another 500 years if ever.

"Make Chine PAY!" Yeah, sure. Like . . . THAT's gonna happen.

Any conflict between the USA and China while TRUMP is in office? You will have most Democrats rooting for China and many of them will be trying actively HELP China. That's how much both China and the Dems hate Trump.

I'm just expressing my opinion here, folks. Feel free to refute without any name-calling. I'm not a "Chinese sympathizer" at all. I am a Realist and I'm telling you that China has strategically out-maneuvered the USA and it won't be easy or quick for the USA to regain its strategic dominance in this situation. There will be a fight on the home front against Fifth columnists in any fight with China, economic or otherwise.

Their economy will be battered regardless of punitive measures.

You have to worry about setting up a Treaty of Verdun effect with China.

Well there is that issue of 21 million less cell phone users than there were a year ago. Granted many people were migrant workers and probably disconnected their work phones when they were quarantined. But wouldnt that show up in astronomical numbers of unemployed? Math doesnt add up.

I've been trying to do that but it is very difficult to find goods like that. China has resorted to the discontinuation of any indication that a product is made in China.

No, specifically, IMHO, by taking advantage of the decades since 1989 to gradually maneuver themselves into a position in which the US manufacturing base is de-constructed and most of this base is re-born in China.

Particularly with regard to the production of medical substances, medicine and supplies, the USA finds itself currently suffering from a pandemic while at the same time an ENEMY nation manufactures over 95 percent of the USA's medical substances, medicine and medical supplies.

This is a LOSING grand strategic position, and there is no quick and easy fix. The USA will find it difficult, IMHO, to regain strategic dominance over China, at this point.

Worst case scenario, these trends continue until the Chinese Yuan replaces the US dollar as the most important currency in the international trading market.

We are in a tough spot.
