Starbucks just shut down all their restaurants in the entire province servicing 30 million people.
Shanghai just shut down all their movie theaters, during the biggest week of the year for moviegoers.
This combined with the lockdown of 56 million people does not happen due to a flu virus.
I did hear an interview with a student who said it was all over Weibo that there had been a spike in some respiratory cases in December, but he said pollution is so bad people just wrote it off to that.
I also saw a UK study where there will be about 12,000 detected in the next 10 days but probably 20 times that amount will have the bug.

You really think China has locked down all these cities and 56 million people over just 26 people dead? We have that here with just the flu yearly and don't lock 1 town down. You can guarantee that there are hundreds more deaths and thousands more infected for China to be doing this and letting that info out to the world while cancelling their new year celebration.

I would strongly recommend doing a twitter search for #Wuhan and see some of the videos being pulled ofc of Wechat (Chinese social network/messager) regarding dead in the hallways in hospitals and the medical staff collapsing under the stress, pressure, and nonstop conditions right now.
I am guessing that this is WAY worse than being let on and China may have to be cut off from all air travel in the next 2 weeks. Terrifying shite.

The estimated Wuhan CoV mortality rate based on "official" chinese data is at least around 3-4%. It is likely higher still.
